FYI. The LTW was NOT a homologation car. It was a car that Eric Wensberg of BMW NA ordered so they could offer people a car they could race out of the box in lower level series racing. The only homologation cars that were ever submitted to FISA/FIA by BMW were the euro M3s for Gp.A and Gp.N in both the S50B30 (euro) and S50B32 engines.

They made 122 of these I believe. These cars didn't sell well at all when they were new. Asking price originally was $65k BMWCCA basically begged BMW to import these to the US. My friend has one. He ripped it apart and turned it into a track car. Many met the same fate. The US S50 is just an OK engine. Difficult to get power out of them. The US S50 is different from the other S50s with individual Throttle bodies. Those engines made the car more expensive for the US market. They worried the E36 wouldn't sell well like the E30 didn't sell well here.
