Daily driving that has got to be quite the commitment. I've done the daily driver race car thing at much much higher ET's, and stuff was always breaking. I eventually said enough is enough and started over with a daily and a track car. lol

@@NateLarsonTheNetNinja Its a whole different game with a turbo engine. Very Streetable and easy on the engine when you're not on it. You don't need 14:1 with twin turbos. Look at Drag Week now, cars driving 1000+ miles, pulling a trailer the whole way, running in the 5s in the quarter... All possible because of twin turbos.

My first car was a Red 1971 Nova coupe with the Sports Package rally rims and black racing stripes...Southern coastal california in 1976 Pioneer Supertuners had just come out...Air shocks in the back to raise it up a bit....widest TA Radials all around....it was such a great car.

I had a sleeper with factory paint and rust, complete factory interior, no tubs like this car! Almost all used parts and treaded tires! It ran a 12:31 at 114 m.p.h. exactly the way I drove it to work and all my driving. It was my only car at the time! Oh, I didn't mention it had 454 and 4:11 gears! It would pass anything but a gas station! Hahaaaaa!

In this country a Nova is a Vauxhall hatchback from the 90s with bodywork so thin you can press it in and out by hand and it's so light that you can easily lift a back quarter off the ground. Every lad wanted a Nova with a 2L 16V conversion when I was young. It's a bit of a modern classic!

SAW this car, at PINKS ALL OUT, Milan Dragway, Milan Michigan, in 2009. Unreal, the torque its motor made--he would do a burnout, and there was a "lag," between the time he let off the loud pedal and the tires stopped spinning. Describing it here is nothing like seeing/hearing it in person, right next to the fence! lol

The nova was in hot rod magazine a few years ago, it has so many trick shit it’s unbelievable, notice it doesn’t look like it has a cage??? It’s IN the pillars and up behind the headliner, it was built to be the ultimate sleeper, there many videos of cruising and racing on the street, it goes low 7s when on a timed track

Nickey Chevrolet in North Chicago used to sell new muscle cars with the big block engines. I wanted the 427 Nova they had for around $4 grand at that time (1969) but on an E3 sailor's salary it didn't happen .

...Have a friend who had a 'Sleeper' 66' Impala. Nobody knew he sported a lively 396, with smaller ratio rear-end gears. The car was a faded sky-blue color---needed paint real bad, but he didn't care. A Hurst 4-sp. propelled him forward.

I had a built 68 for about 8 yrs in the 80s. Wish I still had it. Built a 73 for a guy. 3rd time we took it to the track and got it dialed in real tight he was lined up for hs 4th pass and when the front left left the pavement it twisted so hard the back side windows popped out. Good ol days. Lol
