I played the demo on the Switch and often thought "Okay that's gotta be the end of the demo... What it's still going?!". You really could play a lot there. And I really liked it too and wanted to buy the game because of that. Later I read, that Eldrik (that's his name, right?) from DQ would coma as a DLC and I didn' t thought much about it, I just was happy that now FF and DQ got a character in Smash. But then hero from DQ11 appeared in the trailer and I got a huge smile

I was just in awe at hownmuch game there was in the demo. Fast forward a few months, while shopping for games, I found the full version. I got it (alongside A Link Between Worlds), and I restarted without transfering my demo file. Fast forward to today, I'm on the cusp of 100% it to commemorate it being my very first Dragon Quest game.

@@vanillacokejunky it's more so to do with how Chrom can kill the opponent first if his up B starts below the stage and how easy it is to combo into. Donkey Kong isn't particularly a suicide character. Browser's suicide isn't as easy to pull off and you'll usually die first/ it is possible for some characters to recover from it. Kirby once again hard to pull off and there is the possibility of the opponent recovering.

For those complaining, remember once again: - The Dragon Quest series is niche outside of Japan, but it's huge inside Japan, the release date of a Dragon Quest game is an unnoficial holiday in the country, the series is really, really popular there, and it will sell a lot of DLC, and raise even more the sales of the base game. - Outside Japan, the series may be not very popular, but then, Smash will do the opposite, this DLC will be advertisement for the Dragon Quest franchise, Square-Enix is trying to make the series popular here as well and Smash is the perfect opportunity.

Yes, but basically only in Japan. Dragon Quest has released games outside of Japan, but over here in the States I'm not even sure if it's still being released. Gamers here know the name, but very few have actually played a DQ game. Still, if Japan got characters from an RPG that's only popular there, maybe there's still hope for Golden Sun's Isaac.

Honestly... I'm more excited for The Hero than Banjo and Kazooie. Listen, a series like Dragon Quest getting a representative in such a large and dedicated game series makes me so freaking happy. Here are our DQ heroes. The Luminary, in a purple overcoat: the hero of Dragon Quest XI, and a reincarnation of a hero named Erdwin. He is also the very first hero to receive the title of Erdrick/Roto, which continues into DQ3. Goku-lookalike with the silver tiara: the hero of Dragon Quest III, and the second hero to receive the title of Erdrick, but is the most well-known Erdrick by far. He also has a female counterpart. Young man with the red bandana: the hero of Dragon Quest VIII. He goes globe-trotting to find a cure for his cursed king and princess love interest, and finds out the truth of his heritage along the way. I recommend VIII for anyone who wants to get into the series as a newcomer. Green-haired boy with the dragon tiara: the hero of Dragon Quest IV. Has a female counterpart with curly green hair.

From the gameplay the revealed spells are as follows: Erdrick -Sizzle -Psyche up -Oomph -Snooze Hero 4 -Bounce -Kamikaze Hero 8 -Kacrackle slash -Zoom Hero 11 -Kaclang (Some other spells were shown but the names weren't, from what I can assume 2 of them are a variation of frizz, sizz, sizzle and zap) *Also pretty sure the final smash is Gigaslash, but I could be wrong

I'm actually surprised that people don't know about the Dragon Quest series. The recent DQ 11 have amazing reviews, DQ8 was also the one that got known first in the west. As well as any Jrpg fan in the west will do a little research to find a good amount of reviews, relating to one of the best rpg franchises made from Japan. I still recommend the games.
