Honestly, as someone who just recently played MK64 with friends to a point, where i actually got the controls down, its so funny watching others struggle with em xD Also yes, you do get a Drift Boost, its just not visually implied whatsoever Also for some Context to see just how insane this Mod is: MK64 does NOT use Models! These are all Sprites that fluently transition into each other. This means, for each custom Char, the modder had to perfectly create like 100 custom sprites for each character! Even the little animation of them bopping up and down to simulate a running motor is a separate sprite

In Wii forward if you go off a ramp or anything that gives you a bit of a boost upwards you can get a boost by pressing the drift button near the Apex of your height, but I am not 100% sure about when you are about to land
