What a mistake to discontinue these in 2004. The 757 beast went on to find a niche crossing the Atlantic between smaller cities. There isn't much these can't do---- Considering they came out in the very early 80's, they were way ahead of their time.

I ultimately want a legitimate 757 replacement by Boeing when the time comes. But I'll enjoy the action in Newark for now, where Continental turned the series into a transatlantic cruiser. And the same planes that turn for Orlando, Denver, Houston, and various cities in California. More like a Supercruiser. Most versatile airplane in history.

I noticed that american pilot fly more "dynamic" than I am used from german flights. Rolling takeoff I experienced very often in the US, in Germany not so often.

Correct, the aircraft was certainly in one of the autopilot navigation modes and set to keep a certain speed. Auto-throttles were maintaining the set airspeed creating the fluctuations in sound.
