It's been a while since we did the last chainsaw hack so we decided to give it another try :)
It wasn't an easy project. It required a lot of thought and patience, but luckily it works and has a lot of strength.
Self made:
Circular saw stand - • Change CIRCULAR SAW to...
Belt grinder 2x48 - • DIY Belt Grinder 2x48"...
Vise - • Super Strong Hydraulic...

*Suggestion:* make an adapter for your receiver hitch and attach it to that so it's up higher, then you won't have to bend over and the winch will be mounted in a ridged position. BTW: great job; *well done.*

@reidgleason7862 2 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing since this is gas powered it will rarely be used on a truck and more out in the woods. Being able to use a strap to put it around a tree and pull would be very useful for this. If you put one in your hitch receiver just connect it to your cars battery and don't mess with a chainsaw

Nice work! BUT always and i repeat ALWAYS put a rug or a piece of clothing over the winch line with this setup since you're right in the line if the rope breaks(would be worse if it were a steel cable tho)

Advice and word to the wise, don't part things in the lathe whilst the tail stock is engaged. The pressure from the axis can cause some serious damage if it catches the blade the wrong way. Obviously, in this case, small item, low chance of it happening, but the bigger it gets, the more it can just pop out of the chuck and go for a spin. Source: been there, done that, my lathe ways have a permanent shame mark from it.

Add this to a limited swing range jib arm, and you'd have a right nifty small scale arch drag to get the log ends elevated so they won't hang on roots or stumps, rocks or just dig in. Have the arm high enough and you can lift the log up enough to swing it over into your trailer. Excellent build.
