It's shocking how the increased noise levels in the BW XM came through on your mic, unexpected given the starting price. The Audi RSQ8 has a more dignified appearance, inside and outside. The XM shouts for attention, while the RSQ8 quietly blows the doors off slower vehicles. Funny thing, when the two vehicles are parked together, the Audi looks bigger while the BMW seems to shrink in size. Not that size matters, it's the price difference that gives the Audi RSQ8 the top spot in my opinion. Thank you, Miles.

It's actually not that fast as you think it is. The only way you can get a sub 4s 0-60 is with launch control.

XM any day! The XM looks like nothing else on the road whereas the Audi looks like every other car on the road. I guess if you're the type of person who wants to spend a lot of money on a car and "no one knows" (I have friends like that) then the Audi is your car. If I'm dropping 160 grand on a car, I want it to absolutely look the part! I've driven the XM and it's great, btw. 👍🏻

Ahh I can't get over why the RSQ8 steering wheel has plastic in the centre and matt plastic buttons. This is the top range RS model (don't count R8 xd), and I know some of the RS model has leader in the centre + gloss black buttons on the steering wheel. Same goes to AMG tho, only AMG S Classes have leather in the centre of the steering wheel, kinda weird to me.

I prefer the BMW XM for the reason that my dad bought it. I honestly think that the 1 finishes at 800km and the second at 1450 after having finished both running-in periods I am convinced that together with me you will say that the BMW XM is faster and more performing than the Audi RSQ8. And I'm also sure that the BMW XM is the best SUV on the market today

A more direct comparison would be between an X6 M and an RSQ8, as opposed to having the XM on the BMW side. The XM doesn’t really have competitors and I’m not sure why it exists. Perhaps it’s BMW’s attempt to make a unique model, sort of like what Mercedes does with the G-Wagon. The SUV hype nowadays is huge. Fantastic interior but it’s gonna need a few mods on the outside to look good (which it can if you lower it and give it some spacers [WITH 23-INCH WHEELS ONLY]). Then again at this price point you expect that from factory. It’s also not that fast (slower than an M2). Should’ve probably put the Red Label power unit (750PS/735HP) on all XMs instead of making it a limited edition. Then again, who am I to judge. Really looking forward to seeing how they interpret this 4.4L Hybrid power unit in the new M5. Anyway, great video as always.

Definitely. It’s also a car that makes more sense to me. Weighs around 1000 lb less yet is realistically just as practical and arguably better designed. Handles as good as an SUV of such weight can. Quite a bit faster than the XM too. I guess it’s not as ‘cool’. Hopefully you can get your hands on it soon. Love your unique review style.

Thanks for the video ! Unfortunately, here in France and in Europe it is necessary to take into account the ecological malus, which is approximately 50000eur for the audi (I believe) whereas for the bmw it is... 0eur(it's a hybrid model, no penalty)

Here in Finland you pay about 100% extra on top of the car price for "supercars" like RSQ8. So if the car costs 180k€ in Germany and you want to import it to Finland you will have to pay around 180k€ as an "car tax". French and US car taxes are nice compared to northern countries. It's all about jealously here.

nothing looks as good as a BMW ! but disregarding the looks, the XM is more comfortable, has the best driver assists, is more emotionnal to drive, has an amazing infotainment system, and it's hybrid ! and just for the fact that the RSQ8 isn't electrified, if I had the money to buy one of these two I'll take the XM. but if I had the choice between any 200k vehicules like these ones, it'll be an i7.

I agree with the Audi, there is one area they could cut cost I think and that’s with using real steel/aluminum suspension instead of bags that’ll collapse at ~80k miles, and another is just leaving the same brake lights on it globally. Otherwise it’s the best available deal in this segment
