The most common comparison for Star Light Zone's music is "Don't Get Me Wrong" by the Pretenders, mainly because of the chord progression and the main bit of melody. It's a pretty groovy song and it's fun to think about how it would sound using the Genesis's mostly YM2612-based sound. :)

I could never beat the Labyrinth Zone boss on the original, I always got hit by the same spikes during the "chase" segment. Of course, you couldn't play as Tails in that version either, so no swimming. So I've never actually seen the rest of the game!
