Wow!! We painted my 1947 Featherweight a gorgeous teal color with black accents. My super belt and presser foot bar spring arrived today. Thanks to your amazing tutorials, I was able to install them without fear. The machine is sewing incredibly better now. I can't thank you enough!!

Perfect! My “new” featherweight got a new belt, and it started climbing up one side. I’m so glad I reviewed your videos. Just a little cornstarch worked perfectly

The tip about using the cornstarch works wonderfully. My superbelt did climb in the handwheel until I used a bit of cornstarch. It hasn't climbed since, and my machine runs at top speed with no problem.

Oh thank you Carmen!! I have a painted featherweight and my new belt was climbing. I’ll give the corn starch a try! Best wishes!

The belt itself works great. The problem with the belt is the raised lettering on the outside of the belt which causes quite a bit of noise when winding a bobbin. That raised lettering really needs to be addressed and eliminated! My fix was to carefully sand that raised lettering down level to the rest of the belt and now the bobbin winder does not make a thumping noise anymore!

Hi thanks for the video, can you use french chalk as a matter of interest. Corn starch sounds like a good substitute may be better I'm not sure. Thanks

Thank you so much for the corn starch tip! I'm going to try that. My belt kept climbing (wheel has never been painted, so I'm not sure why) and it was making a clicking sound as it went around. Hopefully the corn starch will help solve my problem!

This belt seems thinner and the bobbin winder wheel doesn’t make good contact with belt on my 30’s era machine. Is that normal?

Thank you for emailing -- the belts were replicated after the old original belts (some of the later replacements were thicker and more stiff), but what you are experiencing does sound like it needs further troubleshooting.
