Fun Fact: the reason why owl's necks can turn so far is because the owl's eyes adapted for night vision by growing larger to the point that they can now no longer swivel in their sockets like humans can. That means they can ONLY look straight ahead relative to the direction they're facing. Their necks move so much because they have to compensate for their eyes not being able to move.
