I just realized Teddy is a used bear. Most likely the fathers old bear. The arguing you hear in the beginning of the game was probably the father dropping off the gift and asking to see his son while the mother refuses. All those old coats in the closet were from the father when he left (because what else would you hang in a closet for a baby?). That teddy bear has clearly been used for some time, that's why the mom takes him in the middle of the night to get rid of it (while she hums so you stay asleep)

Yeah, Role of Rose, their guesses to the plot were FUCK ALL wrong--- but that game's backstory and plotlines do take a good while to figure out. Like they totally missed that the Mermaid was the girl in the medbay with the same creepy pedo old dude at the start of the game. But yeah, the creepy Org XIII robes tossed them way off the trail.

The story is actually pretty simple: *SPOILERS* Mommy's actually an alcoholic bitch divorced from the father, and gets angry and physical as shit when drunk. The poor babby's got no clue what the fuck is going on in reality, only that mommy turns into a massive bitch when she drinks a lot from a weird bottle. Therefore, babby explains it as mommy turning into a shadow monster because she drank a stank-ass potion. The part that Matt and Pat ended the video on is actually the first clue to the alcoholism. It's sort of a mini-hub area with three small areas you have to progress through to get the memory. Altogether, they tell a tale of some regal lady who drank some weird potion (i.e. booze) and became Swamp Grandma, and terrorized her kid to death while getting stuck forever in this state. Another area after this one's a mindfuck with a thing in one of those coats chasing your ass around a house if it hears any sound from you, primarily if you touch any of the many empty green bottles sitting around everywhere. The ending pretty much spells it all out for the extra-slow players, with the babby returning to the normal world at dawn and finding his mother slumped drunk. Then she acts like a colossal bitch when bothered, huge surprise. Finally, someone comes to the front door and little babby goes to see, only to hear a stranger with Teddy's voice who's probably the divorced dad greet him from inside a void of light. The end.

The mother/baby takes Teddy who represents their dreams and the child/father tries to take it back but is unable to since the responsibility of growing up leads to an end to childhood dreams.

***** You haven't made it very far into the series then. Orochimaru probably has the most depth of any character in the show. He was the first person to figure out Madara's plan, and also the first person to take actions against it. He spared Anko's life for the sake of his own because he loved his first student, and resolved himself to find a different body for immoralities sake, which is probably what doomed him. He cared about Tsunade still and didn't want her involved with Konoha, and also didn't immediately kill Jiraiya when Jiraiya tried to bring him back (unlike Sasuke with Naruto) The three Sannin are a mirror of the three main characters, but have much more history (duh) and more background information that you have to look for. Also, he's the only guy who quit the Akatsuki, because fuck that shit.

As much as this game has its flaws, I love it for exploring the (disputable) fact that night terrors in children are a result of parental abuse and neglect. I also adore how they didn't take the easy way and have the MOTHER be the saintly figure while the father being the alcoholic abuser, rather than vice versa. Normally bias is so heavily with the mother and against the father, that I'm surprised the dad in this game got custody even if the mother's an abusive drunk.

Dear Zaibatsu, Please balance the audio of the entire videos you release with the intros that go with them. This has been particularly a problem with the dark souls 2 run as well as this Shitstorm where the intro jingle/music is extremely loud and my volume needs to be adjusted back and forth because of the severe variance.
