So, when I played this game I was 15. By then the only things that scared me were adult fears, the real world, standard stuff. Videogames could be atmospheric and stuff but they couldn’t do anything to me better than a jumpscare. When I played this game, and faced Hydrus, I shit you not, I was *scared* . This creepy monster hiding underwater didn’t even do anything. It was just there. *Staring at you, without moving an inch* . I eventually worked up my courage and went in the water to kill him, but he kept me out of it for some good 15 minutes. Before I forget, the sand-worm (Dirge, #10) was even worse.

I usually like big water creatures, but the water snake in this game didn't do it for me for some reason. I loved jumping onto the flying serpent thing though, which has a similar 'clinging for dear life' feel. Funnily enough, the friend who showed me this game also showed me the water creature fight in Res Evil 4, which I did love. PS2 was a good console for badass monster fights apparently.

Something i alway find amazing from SotC is how Wander despite not wanting to be there, refuse give up. Everytime he gets hit or fall from a colosus he get up like he doesn´t want to, like there is so much strenght he can have, but he refuse to give up and then charge again. I always thought that this quest was to much for a kid like him but it makes for a really inspiring protagonist.

There's a few criteria: 1: It can't be recognizable as from a videogame by someone who doesn't play videogames. Those ones (Such as, say, a Mario shroom) are purely for people who want to broadcast how TOTALLY INTO THIS NEW 'VIDEO GAME' THING they are. 2: It can't be a literal tattoo of a character. (As in, a portrait) This leaves things like faction emblems and other interesting things. Honestly this is my own criteria and has no other bearing.

White-tailed lizards are the one's that give stamina. One can be found at/near every save shrine. Make sure to save at them after you got the lizard so it's added to the map. Makes for a handy check list of which lizards you've already gotten. Normal lizards don't give stamina, but will heal you slightly if you're hurt. Kinda useless because you'll regen over time. Fruit is on every one of those large trees, like the one you ran around in part 1. Normally you can see one from most save shrines in the game, but there are others scattered around. There are more fruit trees in the game than you'd need to get max health.

Escaflowne had a lot of that. There was this weird curve to the speed of every strike the guymelefs made. It would start glacial and then accelerate as it went through the swing, so that while it took the same amount of time as if it moved normally it had a much greater feeling of weight.

Guys, only the glowing lizard tails give you stamina, and they can be commonly found at the save shrines. (Also in this remake, praying at the shrines gives you a stamina boost as well)

I guess I'll be the one to start the favorite Colossus discussion. The most special ones to me were 7 for awakening my fear of swimming in open water, 8 for being such a game changer to the whole SotC formula, and 10 for being the thing of nightmares. They're all rad except for 14 though.

Wander's body floats back, you see it after the final colossi and aggro just runs back thats why hes always running up the stairs when you regain control

i'm guessing they'll beat the next 12 colossi in episode 3. then episode 4 will be spent in a menu screen, leveling up agro and arguing about whether he should take mass cure or force storm. then episode 187 will be them tackling the 16th colossus and / or talking about people on the end credits screen.

Since the episode ends on Pat going the opposite way of the colossus' location, I bet we'll get a few episodes of him just running around even though he has a fucking compass sword.
