@@PilotGigi hahaha in that case, R1 here I come!!!! No no, I do love the look of the S1000rr, but I wouldn't do the M, I'd do the Red with the race package, minus the carbon wheels, lithium battery... I think that'll keep it at around 20k otd.

Jay Drenth the other bikes have up-down shifting with auto blip too. The V4R with its dry clutch is much, much smoother than any of these. Still no cruise control though.

I agree. As an ex-racer I used to run rings around “experienced” riders on 1000s when I was on my R6. These bikes are all fast AF, so yeah just get the one you want/that appeals to you :)

We live in the golden age..... when talking main stream.... there are no crap bikes. You can really just buy what you like and you will not be disappointed. All three bikes within 7 tenths on the track..... nice.

Here in the states I got a really nice green zx10r 16k miles for $4500 no joke and minimum insurance for a whole year is $200 now I have to pay that upfront BUT it's nothing seriously. Just save and get a second hand bike. Not 200hp but 180+hp is fine with me and I dont track just do freeway pulls lol

@@cranky1812 Insurance on my RSV4 and my GSX-R 750 (known to be ridiculous to insure) is less than 150$/month @ 23 years old with a reckless and negligent on my record from 2015. Just saying.

The Aprilia feels 10 years older because it`s an Aprilia, cant compare to a BMW or a Ducati, they have tons more research and development money. but the "old one" still beats the "newer" bikes.

yes but the bmw was equipped with the m package it should be compared to the v4r and rsv4rf. the fun is that the base model aprilia rsv4rr is still faster than a fully equiped s1000rr.

He also points out (rightfully so) that lap times for stock bikes are kind of a moot point, 99% of riders will never race them, and those who will will certainly customize them. It's particularly irrelevant when the differences between modern superbikes are so small. Truth is even the slowest superbike today is stupidly fast. It makes more sense to compare them on things that matter on the road and characteristics that are not easily changed. If I won the lottery I'd buy the Ducati, because 1100cc is better than 1000, and because I love the way it looks and sounds (not in that colour though) and you get wonderful details like the single sided swingarm. More realistically I'd buy the S1000RR which is maybe not as quick or exotic but very close, more practical as a road bike and far cheaper. In fact it's so good that unless the Japanese come up with something really incredible soon I can't think of a reason why anyone would buy any of their superbikes over BMW's.

BMW wins for the simple reason they have just given you one for a year ! same as Ducati last year !! come on now, you may be a little tall for the RSV4 but it keeps winning every other test, wins here on lap times yet you still rate it last, maybe if Aprilia gave you one for a year ???? I predicted this before I even watched it :-( I have to say after riding the BMW I was underwhelmed, very good but no character, nothing special just a plain 'good' bike, very easy to ride, great dash, but choice is a very personal thing, I'd have either V4 over the Beemer every day of the week

Comfort plays a huge part in choosing a bike. WTH does it matter how good a bike is if you hate being on it? U spoke about lap times but did u actually see the times? 3 thousandth of a sec is basically a tie for the track and the bmw performs just as well on the road if not better..

I am not saying the BMW isn't a great bike, it is a fantastic bike & easy to ride. But the review was predictable and the Aprilia is always put last by MCN yet out performs the rest in most other tests - even their own when they put a neutral rider on it, because Neeves is over 6ft and doesnt like the ergo's is a fair point but only relevant to him, other riders will find it more comfortable - I think they should try and stick to facts, the fact is the oldest bike there was the quickest. read the review now in MCN and they called the Aprilia dash cluttered yet the picture of the Ducati dash is way more busy and confusing ... Its just more of the same from MCN, Advertising & freebies gets the result

@@sk2283 I actually do have a s1kr. Its a 2014. Most seats I've been on are not the most comfy tbh. But i don't know if they ACTUALLY favor 1 company over another. If u remember couple yrs back they gave the honda the bike of the year. I thought they were all on crack but that was just me. Lol

The S1000RR seems to be winning over everyone in the end. Every major review has basically concluded "they're all amazing but if we had to chose one it would be the BMW"

@Mila Space When BMW launched the first S1000rr in 2010. They set the standards of what a superbike can be and shocked all its competitors with it's power figures and specially electronics. BMW is anything but boring.

@Mila Space I give you that the BMW feels "boring" because it lacks the character of the Italian bikes. Just like Germans are considered "precise" and rather "cold", while Italians seem more passionate, so do the bikes. That said, though, I'd pick up the Beemer over anything the competition has thrown out on the field recently without a second thought.

I have one, 24000 km and counting not a single problem. It is the best bike ever. Not kidding, the only bike I would trade mine for is the newest one for the electronic ohlins, but mine is only 3 years old so why bother.

@@QuikNik14 Oh ya I have, my buddy has the V4s and its fantastic bike. Its like sitting on a lazy boy in comparison to the twins. The setup is much more long ride friendly and the power is smooth as butter. I really like it BUT I feel like I'd be more enthuised riding on the s1000RR. Ill have to ride one to find out though.

MCN You should not be taking the manufacturers word for it when it comes to power output and weight as they always lie. 650ib has already dynoed them and a Ducati V4R and also weighed them stock. Beamer made most HP with Aprilia closely following. Aprilia made the most Torque with the beamer in 2nd. The Ducati was least powerful in HP and Torque. The Bmw M sport was also the lightest edging out Ducati by 1 pound. With the Rsv4 being the heaviest.

When BMW gives a power figure, that is the minimum you are going to see. Not an "estimate" but the absolute minimum they will allow out of the factory. Every other brand over-estimates.

@@andrewkim9881 650ib compared 2 bikes on same dyno, both standard. Aprilia makes more power. Using ron93 though as its US. Other interesting points to note is that the Beamer is really a 2020 bike. Very few people will get a chance to own one prior October 2019. I tried to order one to replace my 2017 s1000rr and was told I'd have to wait AT LEAST 12 weeks... Which is shocking to say the least. Pergusa Track is basically and Oval with couple of bends. (it's a BHP circuit) Aprilia won despite being heavier, says a lot really.

@UClXV2SiTf00k5bEtUIE6kUw yeah the Aprilia was tested 3 days ago and they got the video uploaded. Made 206bhp same as the Beamer. Aprilia makes more torque. Beamer uses shift cam Aprilia uses an extra 68cc. Interestingly the Beamer needs carbon wheels to offset the weight.

Graham Boyle it was the fastest by an almost unmeasurable amount it’s really the same..best engine is subjective... it doesn’t make the most power people are dynoing the bmw at 204 to the wheel lol and the Ducati is very close

it does tell something about the aprilia's qualities if a 10 year old tuned bike still manages to be the fastest of the group. i'm really curious to see how they will improve it when €5 becomes mandatory

I'd like to point out both Aprilia and Ducati require an extra 100cc's to keep up with the BMW.

I mean it's an awesome bike but that's a very presumptive statement. You're assuming that if they had made a new 1000cc instead that it would automatically be slower because their 1100's are where they are now. That's a hard thing to prove. They're all great bikes and they keep making each other push the limits which is good for us.

1. Neither are a full 100cc more than the bmw. 2. They are using the M version of the bmw and not the R version of the Ducati. The v4r is 999cc and generates more power than the v4s. Just sayin.

Actually the aprilia has 1073cc, and the V4 layout is generally heavier than an inline 4

@@evanhall7681 They are comparing bikes within the same price bracket. The V4R is a $40,000 motorcycle. The M Package RR is $22,000. The V4S is $21,500. The 1100 Factory is $24,500. You want to compare the M Package to the V4R? Fine. Compare the V4R to the HP4 Race.

Super happy with this beast!!! I can kick your ass with any bike or car(cage) year as far as speed goes,.. But yeah is kind boring lol.. Not static with BMW color but... Features... Simple as how many miles you have before running out of gas... Is a win winn. Plus I already have a German car, amg e55 hahahaha, WHT d yu have?

@@inmoneywetrust3292 02 CBR954RR race bike, spare 954 and a third spare engine, sprinter van to haul them and a trailer to haul my cars, 89 turbo MR2, Legacy GT, and soon a G310R Cup race bike. I'm starting a local 310R spec series. Come race that R1 against my 954 around a circuit. Or send that E55 around a circuit against my MR2. I'm up for it.

That's also the north American version of the s1000rr, which is down on power compared to the euro version.

MrJayjay0420 according to BMW NA version is not down on power, and ib650 had Ducati put a special tune on his bike. Nothing is being restricted for 650ib. Our dynos are setup different in the states. We like our low numbers :) Japanese bikes come with huge throttle restrictions so those bikes gain big amounts of power with a tune and removal of emissions hardware.

@@Abhishek-150 i know it but BMW M Edition is also very expensive around 38Lakh Rs. To 40Lakh Rs. For India, n V4R is like 52-54Lakh Rs. But these are top of the line...so either they must have gone for the Base variant for all of these three or for the top end only...!

44Teeth Dyno'd the S1000RR and the Ducati (not sure about the Aprilia) and the S1000RR had the highest power. On paper spec sheets, it's not always the truth or accurate.

Yeah recently they did the rsv4 aswell and compared it to the bmw, the rsv4 made 193 hp and almost 84 torque so about 3 less hp and made a little more torque

I've heard that Ducati have put a blanket ban on comparing the v4r against other bikes on and off track but not sure how true that actually is

The V4R is double the price of these bikes. Why would you not use the HP4 Race? Why would you not use Aprilia's MotoGP bike? This is a $22,000 price bracket of European road-going superbikes.

MCN I know you are NOT testing the V4r because of price in comparison to the bmw and aprilia. But let's get real here the Ducati v4r is the G. O. A. T. I would have liked to see ducati top spec against bmw and aprilia top spec which u have here.

When neeves all but declared himself unable to fully exploit these, that's the take-away message. Nice to have and good luck to those who can afford them, but UK roads and tracks will highlight the rider's abilities over the capabilities of these bikes. I think they've evolved to the point of irrelevance.

I recently rode all three of these back to back and I am 6ft tall. I completely disagree with this. If anything the v4s is the most comfortable. The Aprilia feels small but there is still plenty of comfort. I found the S1000rr the most wristsy and uncomfortable by far. Overall I bought the Aprilia as it was a nice mix of both the other bikes. Mad like the Ducati but smooth and accessible like the bmw.

my opinion :- Track use= rsv4 and panigale v 4 serious Is So better than inline .v4 are So wildy but inline 4 are smooth and friendly but I choose R1 It feels like mixture of this from yamaha fan girl😆😆😉

The Ducati is a sexy machine... But it sounds like crap, IMO. Is hot seat still an issue with Ducati? I would hope not with the exhaust placement. BMW started the liter bike Renaissance, for which all riders should be grateful.

Yes but all those HP number which ducati and aprilia claim are not true. You make it look like s1000rr is less powerful bike around which is not true s1000rr does much more HP power than ducati v4s v4r and about the same with with rsv4 1100 on the rear wheel.

Interestingly, the V4 is the only bike with counter rotating crank shaft (as far as I know), yet labeled as the slowest to steer.

They are all such great looking bikes. The BMW is a bargain. You get so much bike for so little. It may not have Ohlins or Brembo but you can’t tell with how well it works. Maybe they’ll make an HP4 with the Ohlins and Brembos.

They're not particularly comfortable for short people either, the way you're supposed to sit on them is inherently uncomfortable. Higher clip ons and lower foot pegs are great for cruising but make it hard to swing your body from side to side when you're trying to change direction quickly.

@@Utahforrest They're not ahead of the pack. They might accelerate slightly faster, but lap times won't be that different and the GSX-R1000R and the Fireblade SP are a lot better as road bikes (ergos, reliability, etc).

Ducati Apollo 1964, that was the first Ducati V4. OK, I'm happy to concede that it never made production but it certainly went through extensive development and testing stages. The initial prototype put out a staggering 100 bhp and neither the tires nor the riders of the day were up to the task of handling a bike of this calibre. It was ultimately de tuned in the hope of appealing to police departments but their attempt was in vain. Many scorned Ducati when they re entered GP racing with a V4 layout after nearly three decades of L twin success but the truth of the matter was that Ducati's first foray into big bore bikes was a V4 back in 1964, not the Desmosedici that was born some 38 years later.
