Supercharged E30 Touring Wagon Making 470 hp at the Wheels!!

We think Chris at Castro Motorsports is making some of the coolest modded BMW's around and here's another one from him that blew us away. It started as a 316 Touring Wagon and now it's a wolf in sheeps clothing. Looks like a cool grocery getter but it makes 470 hp at the wheels and handles/brakes/drives like a pure sports car.

That car feels like you met a woman who exactly looks like Demi Moore at late 30's, have reliable/balanced personality and you also find out that she is a true sexomaniac in the bed :) These guys really great about BMW retro renovation/restoration. If I am not wrong, these guys also have a great E9 in their garage. Making a E30? Hell yes. Why don't you swap 440i, 340i f32 (These engines have inside power potential) or 335i E92 etc engine. Looks like E30 but drives like a new M4, 440i etc. May be some like interior and exterior mods like Singer do with the retro 911's. I wonder when somebody gonna build some crazy ass M6 E63 (Manual). They used to do some mods before 2010's but there were not many unique ones. Manual cope BMW with V10 engine. This is probably gonna become a something like a Jaguar E-type, Toyota Supra, RX7, BMW E30, 993, 974 Porsche etc. within the next 10 years.

An E30 build would be great..... but could you do it on a budget so us ordinary (broke) people could aspire to build one....? Things like standard S54 swap, BMW mix n match suspension and brakes, how best to wire it etc..... After we get through these tough times, most people won't be able to splash the cash, so a budget (but properly done) build would be awesome.

The best sounding S54 exhaust I’ve heard! Care to share the recipe? Currently I’m running US catted headers, DKF resonated section 1, stock resonated x pipe and Stromung mufflers on my Z4M. I’ve gotten rid of the rasp but I’m about to install a carbon air box, euro catless headers and swapping in 100 cell cats in place of the resonators in section one. I’m afraid it’s gonna turn into a rasp machine again.

Really great car.....AGAIN! That engine looks like it grew there.....the installation is SO clean. In my dreams all my cars are red....just....like.....this! If you're doing a project car, may I suggest maybe trying to score a e28 5-Series chassis and drop a S54 or maybe a S65 into it. Make you're own version of the first M5. That would make for a dope car, nothing against the e30 , I'm a big fan of those too, you can't go wrong either way.

The E30 3 Series is the best BMW ever. Did exactly what made BMW famous in the first place. Perfect size, I6 motor (most models), smooth manual transmission option, rock solid built bodies and great handling. Simple and reliable which isn't something modern BMWs are known for.

Shawn, all I can say is "DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! " Chris definitely knows his stuff. His results are just excellent. We've seen him several times on your show and he never disappoints!! We've had 12 BMWs in the family since 1969 (8 of them mine). The last one (so far!) I've had for 9 years. It's a 2001 330xi, 3.0 M54 6-cyl, 5sp manual, all wheel drive. I don't know how many others would have an interest but I'd love to see Chris do his "magic" on an E46 330xi, manual. Stock, it's really fun to drive, partly due to the 5-spd that's 1:1 in top gear (no O.D. ). No one pays any attention to another of umpteen thousand 3-Series Bimmers running around so no one notices another black sedan until it disappears down that crooked road! BMWs were my 1st & 2nd cars after 5 motorcycles; I guess you might say I'm just a little bit "hooked!!"
