I had a new to me 3800 gtp that I was the 2nd owner of. I went in to the local Walmart, then heard over the intercom speaker that the car is on fire in the parking lot. Went out and sure as heck was. These twin screw superchargers get very hot if improperly maintained

I learned about supercharger maintenance the hard way with the M45 on my R53 Mini Cooper. Cost me a new supercharger. Now I know.

well, think about it. anything that moves or has mechanisms has oil, if it moves around then it wears down. same thing goes for tranmissions and differentials.
