When I was about 10, we had this HUGE mirror in the living room and I’ll never forget the day I was looking in the mirror thinking how ugly I was, and then I went and played in my mom’s makeup. It looked a mess but when I went back to the mirror, I remember telling myself to never ever think that again. It really was just a shift in my thoughts. That was the last day I felt ugly. Be careful with your thoughts. Remember if one person doesn’t like it, so what? I promise you there’s an infinite amount of people out there who do find you beautiful!

I was not expecting to feel such a flood of emotion watching this. I was picked on and bullied *horribly* in school because I was a "rocker" girl . It was the girls who were the worst. By the time I got to highschool (97) the cultural attitude had shifted and the same people who were terrible to me started complimenting my clothes. Once, one of the most popular girls (who I had a class with) said to me " I really love your style, I always wished I could dress like that but I wouldn't know where to start, and I don't have the guts". Times change, people change. I wish there was a way to explain to any young person being tormented in school that, in the big scheme of things, some of these hardships make you a stronger person.
@myxedpoet3253 жыл бұрын
