Hey I'm watching from Canada. I'm indigenous... Ojibway to be exact. Love your videos. Our cultures are so similar. New Zealand is probably the number one place I would if I could afford an overseas trip. Anyways, if you traveled here and had a live show I bet people would come out. We would love to hear more about your culture

Glad that you like our culture

I'm a kiwi living in BC ,Canada. We are very similar in a lot ways. But NZ, as a country leads the way in diversity, acceptance of other cultures etc and I totally agree, you have to come to canada and include kelowna in your tour. A true taste of home will bring kiwis flocking not to mention canadians

The aunties and nannies always loved me, I could never do anything wrong in their eyes. Use to laugh to myself (never in front of them) when I always seen them pick on the other kids and be nice to me.

“Getting told off by the aunties and nannies all day long” that happens at the cuzzies house, I’d be chasing tuhura around then he leaves the door open for Wesley to run out as well then we all get told off for leaving the door open because she’s making us some boil up and the flies keep on coming in.

Hello! I have a school-project about Maori. I was wondering if someone could tell me a little more about it, as I have become very interested in Maori. First off, how should I actually pronounce it? Please take no offense from this, as I mean no offense, I really just want to know. Secondly, how are your lives today? Do you have many Maori friends? What are some current problems you are struggling with? What do you feel about the history of how you were treated by European travelers? Thanks for reading my questions, I hope you'll answer some of them:)

45 years ago... Things were a little different... Having to throw a slimy eel up the creek bank, and wipe the slime off on the grass... Getting 5 sacks of Kina diving on the reef... And you cant take a bath, cos bath and laundry sink are full of Kina.. Cant go inside cos mum is boiling snapper fish heads, and it smells too bad, and she slurps the eyes in front of you... Poor for weeks on end... But doesnt matter... Bag of flour makes Doughboys and Pooha and eel with vinegar goes down a treat... Making coffee with condensed milk... Dont need to take your shoes off outside.... Dont own any.. Haha... Good pair of gumboots does ok... Maori mum loves watching kungfu movies cos she can vent her anger from being hit with an iron pipe as a child... Does karate kicks at the tv and says... "Na.. Stink eh!".... Mum comes home from Ponamu pub at 3am and sits on bed gives me a whole packet of my favourite toffee pops... And says... "You love your black mama eh bub..." i say your brown... And we laugh...
