Regarding Snickers - I am aware female mice shouldn't be alone. She was originally adopted with 2 other females, but they were over 2 years old when I got them. I was not able to find younger mice to introduce before her two cage mates passed away (within 2 days of each other). I also wasn't sure introducing new mice ws a good idea at that point as one of them had cancer. After that, it was not in her best interest to still find younger mice as she is much too frail for introductions. My vet agrees. She is nearly 3 years old at this point and has difficulty getting around. She only comes out to eat and drink and interact with us at this point. I also don't feed her everyday, she eats this over about 3 days usually.

Great video! Some suggestions from a fellow mouse/guinea/rabbit owner- for your female mouse try taking out some of the fattier seeds like sunflower seeds (they can be treats instead) and scatter feed in her cage so she has to work (mentally) and physically for it! Since she is a female if she’s able to have a couple friends to interact with that could help as well! Also I can’t tell if you have an air purifier or not, but definitely recommend them they’re life savers! Love the video 😊

I thought pellets were optional. Meaning it’s up to the individuals that own the animals. If you get high quality pellets that’s obviously going to be better than the cheap ones with stuff they shouldn’t have in. But it’s perfectly fine for Guinean pigs (idk about rabbits) to have a small quantity of pellets. Pellets shouldn’t be the main part of their diet but it can be in their diet, you don’t have to get rid of them entirely. At least that’s what’s on the RSPCA website I got a lot of my research from. (I’m Australian)

I would recommend getting another mouse since they go in pairs. Also if you feed her everyday you should start doing it every other day because it is a lot of food. Some of my hamsters eat every third day just because they are so slow at eating. Other than that you are doing so great and are really spoiling those babies ❤️❤️❤️

@TheTinyHerd

I adopted her with two other females, but I got them when they were already over 2 years old. I originally was planning on adding a few younger girls so nobody ended up alone, but unfortunately both of snickers' friends passed within the same week, leaving her alone. She's very old at over 2 1/2 now, and her back legs are very weak, so she has a tough time getting around. She pretty much only comes out to eat and interact with us, and stays in her nest most of the time. There's really no introducing her now. She get lots of daily attention from us when she wants it.

Hello! I’m new to the channel... I was wondering if you have any boys?? I have two boys. The big one is toffee and the little one is Oreo!! Toffee has been bullying Oreo I’m very worried it’s gotten to the point where Oreo can not eat or sleep because of this harassment... toffee is also biting Oreos ear:( toffee has also gone through some changes ( becoming an adolescent guinea pig ) We called the vet and they said to separate them! Should they still have playtime together??? Pls help!
@TheTinyHerd
@TheTinyHerd 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I do have three boys! Usually if they are fighting to the point of breaking skin, or bullying so much that one of them can't get to eat or drink, then it's better to separate. They don't need playtime together after that, it would be better to try and find each of them a new friend. As soon as you take pigs apart and put them back together they start the dominance process over again, so putting them back together will just cause them to try and establish dominance again, which is stressful on everyone. What does the bullying look like? Sometimes it can be hard to tell if it's normal or bullying if you're new to piggies!

@@collettecook3133 guinea pigs really need to be with another pig if at all possible, they are herd animals and being alone is hard on them. I'm not sure where you're located but there are tons of places to get piggies. The shelters near me always have them and people are rehoming them in Facebook groups all the time. Some areas have guinea pig rescues. You'll just have to look at what's around you.

One tip. That is way to much food for the mouse and you clearly don't know how to take care of bunny's because they need an 8th of a cup of pellets and a mix of some carrots and some remained lettuce
@TheTinyHerd
@TheTinyHerd 3 жыл бұрын
The mouse doesn't get fed everyday, I wait until she eats it all over a few days. Bunnies should get around 1/8 cup per 2 pounds of rabbit. My rabbits are 5 and 6 pounds so they get 1/4 each, which is still less than what they could have. Some people don't feed pellets at all because they don't contribute much to their diets. My rabbits do get veggies in the evening for their dinner. There are many types of lettuce, it doesn't have to be romaine. Carrots are also high in sugar, they get carrots as their lunch snack everyday so they don't need any added at dinner time. My information comes from the house rabbit society if you'd like to research for yourself. rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/
