What you failed to point out in the Riddler section (Death in Slow Motion) about the silent movies 'omage, was that the organizer of the Festival, Van Jones, who talked down the "interruption" of the Riddler as Charlie Chaplin, was in fact the great silent movie actor Francis X. Bushman. This was a very tongue in cheek reference to his silent movie career when he had been in over 175 silent films between 1911 and 1919 and also his friendship with Chaplin as they were personal friends and had worked together 50 years earlier.

We actually thought the 1989 Batman by Burton was too dark lol. I am loving re-watching the 1966 series through the Blu Ray box set. So much fun. My youngest son also loves it. Acually it makes sence that clock king is used as a batman villain here since clock king first appeared as an enemy for robin in a story writen by bill finger (who as cap said write the episode). Also the clock king is the name if two chars ters who both are in the same continuity, the clock king here that bill finger created in '47 was a different version most likely since he was only called the clock and I do t think was given a name. The clock king who fought green arrow is William tockman who is a different person than the batman rogue, arrow used this incarnation but batman acually did not fight clock king in his books. He was never acually a batman villain at all, though he did appear in justice league and justice league international. So the only version who is Ailey a batman villain is the unnamed "clock" created by bill finger, the unnamed (the 66comics don't count) 60's show version created by bill finger, or tempus fugit who is only in TAS. In fact (I never knew this till I just checked cause I was confused) the character is not considered a batman villain outside of that robin story in star spangled comics, the animated series, and the 60's show. It's all strange since I always thought he was a batman villian though acually he has only really been in shadow if the bat once and azrael. Though I guess bill finger yet again is an unsung hero since he created the character to fight robin and brought him to the screen in the 60's show in one if three batman apperences for the character. Wow even when the guy never appeared in a batman issue we consider him more if a batman villian than a green arrow villian... no wonder it feels like Ollie has not villians.

Guys do you remember the episode where the Coringa or the Penguin man with his guys assistants when he robbed bank he released a big smoke cloud in the bank to make people fall and sleep temporarily until the guys finish robbing the bank and then later the sleepy people got up without any harm, except the robbed bank. The reason I am mentioning that is why not capture the Hamas from the tunnel by tossing smoke and make everybody sleep enough time, and get everybody out, save the hostages and liquidate the evils. Or bribe some Hamas, make a party, and prepare a drink, a soup or whatever, and "goodnight cinderela" to set up the Hamas. Or another thing could do, transfer the hospital to another location far from the tunnel, and get rid of the tunnel. The Hamas is using the Hospital as shield, again using people for their devil activities.

Regarding the Egghead-Olga episodes. There's a two-parter and then a standalone episode a few eps later in season 3, but it was supposed to be a full 3-part episode. Producers just took the middle episode out and filmed new footage to make it a standalone. Notice that at the beginning of part 2 there's a boy scout and old lady commenting on Egghead arriving, and they say "this time they're going that way." Then the same boy scout and old lady are at the start of the standalone episode also commenting on the arrival of Egghead and the Cossacks, as with the 3-part structure their appearance at the beginning was supposed to be a repeated gag, but now their first appearance has moved to the later episode. Also, in the standalone episode, the villains are seen running out of the building without being captured. This was supposed to be them escaping so they could be in the third episode (which became the second episode of the two-parter). So they filmed a new ending for the standalone episode in which the police say they were surrounding the building and capture Olga and Egghead, even though we don't see it.

40:56 "There's even a two-part Olga-Egghead episode that watches a lot more like two completely unrelated episodes..." The format change in the third season was mostly due to the network cutting the show from two episodes a week to one. Apparently producers didn't think viewers were sophisticated enough to remember or care about a cliffhanger after a whole week (as opposed to the next night as with seasons 1-2) so they eliminated the end-of-episode death traps, even in the multi-part episodes. Here's one of my favorite sites with info about the Batman TV show: tothebatpoles.blogspot.com/

Wonderful job cap. I just bought season one and have to say that it is fun watching these episodes again. Since the only thing I owned before was the movie and it was the closest thing to the show we had for a long time. I didn't mind bat girl being added in season three. Actually the actress wasn't that bad and didn't mind her as a kid. After re watching the first season like you I began to really get annoyed by Burt Ward and Robin. There are parts where I am like please shut up. But I guess a lot of people get that. But I still appreciate the show for what it is. Do you think that the comic series right now of the 66 show would work in current batman story arcs well? Like Knightfall with Bane or No man's land? Would you like to see those stories be included in the adam west world with that series?

The thing that made Batman 66 super campy was Batman and Robin showing up in broad daylight in their costumes --- haha who would do that? I think you made a mistake. You confused "Batman Dracula" with "Batman Fights Dracula." The Andy Warhol film "Batman Dracula" came out in 1964, not 1967. The poster shown in the video was of "Batman Fights Dracula," which did come out in 1967, and was made in the Philippines.
@Geekvolution9 жыл бұрын
Oh goodness, I did get that wrong. Originally, I'd written that it came out in 1964, but then I read another source (an incorrect one, apparently) that said it was '67. Which would also change that whole argument, given that Warhol had already developed a fascination for Batman before the TV series. Thanks for pointing it out.
