I'm fixin to have to replace both cylinders on my Ford 3910 so this was really helpful. I feel a lot more comfortable now, especially cause I'm just putting on new cylinders and don't have to rebuild. Thanks for taking the time and trouble.

I just disassembled one of my steering cylinders. The hardest part was removing the white nylon seal spacer. It was stuck tight and had to pry it out slowly with picks and screwdrivers. It finally came out in two pieces.

Thank you for taking the time and for your patience. I have a 4000 series, but it should be similar. Unfortunately, I will likely have to pull and reseal the steering column too.

Awesome videos superhogult. My father-in-law has a 4100 with this same system. He has been bending cylinder rods for 2 yrs. Do you have any info on how to adjust the pump output pressure? And do you have a psi spec for this pumps output?

It might Help My Dad and I soon. We Have a 1968 3000 Diesel almost like Yours and it does turn pretty good, but I think something is slightly out of line because it will only turn in one direction and it is like the Tractor nearly tried to run over the front wheel. My Brother-N-Law put a front end loader on it for a while and I don't think He put it back together exactly right.

I have owned a Ford 3400 for twenty years, and have never changed the filter and fluid in the stirring system on my own. This is excellent. My owner's manual did not dictate a specific fluid. Just use standard stirring fluid? I bought a generic fluid from my Mahindra dealer. Is that okay?BTW to you have a video on the servicing of the transmission fluid and the hydrolic system?THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO>

i just inherited a Ford 2000. One of the steering cylinders leaks really bad. I ordered a seal kit and will try to replace them like you did. One question i had was regarding the "bleeding" you did in part 4. i'm a little fuzzy about what that means. Is all that is involved is having the reservoir open and turning the wheels really slow?
@superhogult6 жыл бұрын
Marcin Sujkowski yes you will be moving the steering from stop to stop slowly to remove all the air from the system just as you would do a car. Just make sure it’s up on a jack or block to make it easier on you and your tractor. You will make a slight 5 second pause at each stop. Cycle through about 6 times and recked the fluid. Try not to let it get low as it will bring air back into the system.
@collinwheeler79995 жыл бұрын
Do these type of systems have a pressure relief on the column or the pump? Mine gets hot and hard to steer when the front end has a load on it. I just changed the fluid and did not help. Any info Would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 3400 Ford that the steering turns left but does not want to come back to center , turns right fine and back to center fine , Any suggestion as to the problem ?
@superhogult6 жыл бұрын
Ken Rauch I would lift the front of the tractor up as to get a better idea of what’s causing the binding. If you don’t see any obvious issues then remove the power steering cylinder to you can check the front axle for sticking I’m not sure what it’s called on a farm tractor but on a road tractor they are called the king pins. If no issues are found when the tires are turned left to right then I would suspect the power steering. If that’s the case add one cylinder back and recheck. If you remove the front of both cylinders and let them hang and watch them move while you turn the wheel and see if they match in movement

Ti ringrazio tanto
