Always great to get out, and more so to share the time with friends. You could have done worse for a dinner/camp view that's for sure. Way too much rump roast on the bottle hunt, bro, but at least you got to hang at a cool river. Glad you didn't hitch hike your way out this time. Interesting take they have on Poutine there... not quite how it's done in Québec, but that's "anglos" for you, always have to try and improve on perfection. 😋 Lots of emotion in this one Buckley. Kind of reminded me of Stand by Me, but without Wil Wheaton, or a dead body. More sap than maple syrup in some bits, and some great views to boot.... except for that last frame. Damn you, that's the last time I watch one of your vids all the way to the end!
@BackpackingwithBuckley3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the end bud!! Haha. How is poutine made traditionally? The emotion was not scripted for sure!
@northeastfamilyadventures91863 жыл бұрын
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Poutine is traditionally a very simple food. French fries, fresh cheddar cheese curds that *_squeak_* when you eat them, and smothered in gravy. The trickiest bit is getting the cheese curds. I can almost find passable ones in VT and NH, but they have better in Wal Mart 5 minutes across the border in Québec. They make some good curds in Wisconsin as well. The problem is that in the US there isn't as much demand, and once they sit in a refrigerator for a couple days, they lose the texture. From what I could see, the poutine they served you looked like for cheese it had little mozzarella sticks or something. Looked tasty at least, and better than this one place I went to in MA where they served it with spoonfuls of cottage cheese. 🤮
@BackpackingwithBuckley3 жыл бұрын
@@northeastfamilyadventures9186 that's awesome! Thanks for the lesson. I love to learn new stuff! The cheese curds were deep fried and traditional US bar curds. I was hiking so it tasted heavenly to me but I'd sure like to try an authentic version!
