My wife and I have owned 12 Hyundai vehicles. We bought our 1st Hyundai in 2004, and have NEVER had ANY issues with any of the 12 we have owned. I remember in 2008 my wife was hell bent on having a PT Cruiser. Chrysler is a very well known brand, and has been making vehicles for decades, right? It was declared a lemon in less than 3000 miles!!! Right back to Hyundai she went running!! We have only bought Hyundai products since then! We have owned everything from an Accent to a Palisade, they have all been EXCELLENT vehicles! As for me and my house, we will always buy Hyundai! You guys keep doing exactly what you’re doing, as it truly helps to know before ya go to buy!!!

Likewise... But I just mush Genesis, Hyundai, & Kia all together. Lol. Between my wife and I, we've had a 2014 Sorento, 2019 Sorento, 2020 Sedona, and a 2022 Tucson. Literally not even one issue with any of them. I'm sold.
@PokeDadandPokeSon Жыл бұрын
Well, the Veloster she traded in for her Santa Cruz had 106,000 miles on it and ran like new when it was traded. Oh, and the Santa Fe I had was traded in with over 80,000 miles on it. So yes I know EXACTLY how well they last. In fact my daughter is still driving the Tucson we gave her and it has almost 300,000 miles on it, and not one single major repair! Tires, oil changes, and I’ve replaced the battery once, and the brakes twice. I must say that’s pretty damn good!!
@kellybailey9063 Жыл бұрын
It sounds like you’ve traded them in every two years on average. Not many cars would have a problem in that time. I’d like to hear from folks who’ve owned these for 10 plus years.
@PokeDadandPokeSon10 ай бұрын
@@kellybailey9063 how is that? Had the Veloster for over 5 years, Santa Fe for almost 4 years. You must be assuming that we only owned them one or two at a time, in which you’d be wrong. Have owned up to 4 of them at one time! Have never traded in a single one without driving it for at least 4 years. Trading in your car, for most people, isn’t about the car having issues. Trades are made for UPGRADE reasons! It’s literally that simple. I’ve had my current Palisade for 2 years now, and won’t be trading until 2026, after the new body redesign.

As someone’s who’s had both, Telluride is the clear winner imo. Better sound system processing, with real surround sound, better handling than the Palisade, better build quality, more planted feel on road, quieter cabin, more premium looking cabin/ better material choices, power folding mirrors, THIRD ROW LIGHTS l, and overall less obnoxious or overly sensitive safety systems. Hyundai does have power folding seats, massage drivers seat, fully one touch window/ sunroof controls, traffic jam assist cruise control that starts again on its own without you having to hit the gas, and better interior storage. Overall , though, Palisade feels cheaper inside and has a more dated cabin design unless you choose the lighter shade leather. Both models were top trims and on day to day life with them plus styling, the Telluride is superior

I have a 2021 Palisade Limited and I can say that this SUV does not disappoint. We do love the extra storage underneath the console as well as the large cup holder storage that can snugly fit precisely a Starbucks 4 drink holder. The only thing I think it needs is the folding mirror functions. I don't know why only the Middle East models have this feature and the US versions do not. Thinking of trading in to a newer Palisade Limited once they have the folding mirror function available.

This winter we traded a 2016 Acura RDX on a 24 Kia SX Prestige. Mostly So impressed ! Couple of negatives. 1 - you can’t lock the vehicle from the inside lock button as you leave. You must use the outside lock or remote. This should be an option in settings . You can’t use the Kia app with an out of country phone. We are in Florida for near 6 months. They need to fix these issues. Engine noise on acceleration is a bit rough. Otherwise awesome. The Gas app you recommended doesn’t work with an out of country phone. I just checked.. these are just app writing issues.

The Palisade Calligraphy looks sooo good without the bling grille! It looks very properly upmarket. The Telluride refresh still hasn't won me over, but it is still a good looking CUV. I have to commend H/K for not following the trend of raising prices...just to raise prices. That is despite these two being some of the most sought-after vehicles on sale of the last 2-3years.

I think the Telluride speaks more to me because of it's iconic look. I had an old Cherokee for a while, a Liberty, a 2009 Rav4: I like cars that have a look that lasts. The Palisade has a few more features I like, but the Telluride has an actual shifter which is nice for sport mode, more space in the back, and just looks like something really premium.

I think you should have compared the 2024 Telluride X-Line and not the X-Pro vs. the Calligraphy edition of the Palisade. The X-Line is the more prestigious package, including larger & classier rims. I have own both models. The 2024 Telluride also blacked out all the grey bumper pieces and would have better complimented the Palisade Night Edition.

My Passport isn’t the top of the line and I have all that!

Both of you left out a couple of reasons why Hyundai takes the win, for the fact that it gives us the smart parking feature, which Kia does not provide that. Now for the 3rd row seat, between both SUV, the more practical advantage would be the fact that Hyundai provides that auto folding and unfolding feature so you don't have to struggle to reach the straps to pull the seats back up. Additionally the 3rd row seat allows you to recline the seats back a bit more for a more comfortable ride, another feature that Kia lacks. The front driver seat also includes side adjusting sections on the power seat buttons, its that dial for the lumbar adjustment. this does in-fact, make a huge difference in comfort. Those were 4 more points I noticed that were a huge win for Hyundai to break away from Kia's Telluride and dust it. p.s. The Calligraphy 2WD has sport mode for a much faster throttle response rather than keeping it in "Comfort" mode (slower throttle response). Also, there are two top trims for Hyundai, the Calligraphy and Calligraphy night edition. The big difference is the interior seating which you mentioned to be "lower quality" for the seats being suede in the night edition, while the Calligraphy can also have the option for Nappa Leather. So therefore a point would be added to Hyundai and not just Kia.

I’m thinking about trading in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I love her, but I have a hip disability that is causing me to “grow up” and get something more functional (RIP off-roading/ Dukes of Hazard trips) 😅…although I’d keep my Jeep if money was no issue. Gonna be honest, I’m afraid of cars with a lot of tech because it’s just more stuff that can break and take to a mechanic vs. a DIY fix Jeep, but there’s no avoiding that with a new car. My boyfriend’s Alfa Romeo Giulia has almost completely scarred me and now I’m almost at the AMA expert level knowledge on how to diagnose issue #xxx . If I’m going to give up the freedom of open air of a Wrangler (#GoTopless), I’m going to need to be spoiled on the inside. I have been driving kia 2021 telluride sx trim. Everybody talks about interiors and exteriors , not about its engine. Its good looking car but it's GDI engine consumes lot of engine oil, you have to top up the oil every 2-3weeks. And lot of carbon build up inside the engine.abd it struggles to start, delayed start, fail to start. Especially, at the traffic light, after auto engine shut off it fails to restart. Dealership changed battery for $600, sensor for $700. But they couldn't fix it. Now it's completely dead. Korean car lasts for only 3 years. I'm a korean but my family, friends, 500 coworkers, never ever buy korean products anymore, generation to come. They are cheating the customers. They shouldn't be allowed to sell their products.
