The cutter is slowly gonna become one of my daily flyers. it's great for the black kite mission when it gets put at mic l5 as it uses barely any fuel and i can snugly get it close to the eva lock due to it's small profile so I can do my usual corpse farming for the nine tails arrmour. I love the clunky sounds of the ramp and the engine off sound as it sounds like a proper mechanical fan just stop dead at the end of its power down cycle. Looks like an american freight train diesel engine and it is just a nice little ship overall. Flies really nice.

SMB - a great review. FYI the sliding armour doors are in use in some modern helicopters designed for battlefield use. Primarily they are used to give you protection from small arms fire and snipers when you are coming in to land. So on the cutter you would slide those panels forward say going into Jumptown to prevent snipers in your 9 and 3 o clock getting a head shot on you as you land or are waiting for mates to load stuff in the back. The only place for a sniper to get you would be in the 12 oclock position and you would be very unlucky to present a sniper with that opportunity. So the sliding armour is a great feature and is based on real life battlefield equipment.

I love this little ship! Lots of fun to fly and the sound design is amazing. The engine sounds give it a real hot rod feel. Cargo bay windows are a nice touch, I just wish it had a jump seat or two in the cargo bay. I hope CIG swaps the action of the gear lever - right now lever up is gear down, instead of leaver down, gear down.

I quite like the Cutter as a starter utility ship. Seeing all the details in the ship is great and I like the Drake details like the engines looking like they might shake apart when afterburnering.

The Cutter is now my Daily driver to get around, do bunkers or when I play FedEx. ... It has a bed and I haven't refueled since I bought it. It's almost perfect. I wish you could retrieve it on surface outposts... but you can't have everything. XD

Great video, and I love this ship! With the Quantum fuel capacity of 6K QFU's, I found that I can slap a VK-00 on it, and make the Microtech-to-ArcCorp run at 6 minutes. Coupled with a near-instant reclaim time, this is turning into the perfect daily driver.

Drake ships have that scavenger feel to them. The pilot/crew just found a wreck and patched it up where it actually functions but that's it, they didn't care for beauty and just need the thing to move and that's it. I love that vibe (also functions really well for a pirate-y vibe

To me drake seems like the cost-efficient brand of ships since they don't care much for exposed bits and bobs or smooth, perfect edges. The budget space-farer, so to speak.

Putting aside its design and gold standard advantages, i really fell for the sounds and that light flickering. I already liked the feeling of being in a ship that has been hard at work in the Cat but the designers brought this atmosphere out even more with this little can and the Corsair. It took me about 5 minutes of just listening to things opening and closing not too smoothly before my first liftoff

This is going to be THE starter ship for pyro with the size of its quantum fuel tanks. I was able to fly across Stanton with a VK-00 drive and still be under a quarter fuel used

that panel at min 9:40 it will be used for hacking, not sure how deep, but my guess would be to unlock the door to the cockpit, or/and unlock flight capabilities since they will add security how would someone fly a ship, if you kill the pilot while hes on the pilot seat then yeah its unlocked but if he locks it before that, you'll need to hack which can take a while maybe even reinforcements. or that panel its to hack the distress beacon so the owner cant call for help.

i love this ship... dont like the 650k storage for local.. but i love the 650k external storage! makes for easy transfering goods to friends... i put the pvt in the back and do the drug bunker missions makes nice for parking at a distance and avoiding turrets. my new fav ship tbh and i own every ship in the game minus a few pledge ships :P

I used this ship to get REP really fast. Its an amazing little ship. Its so small you can land next to buildings and no need to bother anyone on landing pads or be in anyone way. It is also fast where i was able to outrun someone trying to kill me. Reason being is acceleration in this little thing is outstanding. Its my fav small ship.

Technically you can land an MSR next to a building away from the pads also. And acceleration in the Cutter is not as fast as you think it is - if someone was shooting at you and you got away - they likely weren't much into gunning you down and broke off or not that good in a fighter. The Cutter is even slower than an Aurora.

On begin: I hate Drake ships, it's 30th century and we have "new" ships made by duct tape :D But I was forced to break this video in middle and see it again by self. Ok, I still hate Drake and this new flying brick, but I checked combat (low tier) against NPC's and it's quite nice, ofc Titan perform better. Anyway Cutter has one big advantage that force me to consider buying one: range with VK-00 Quantum Jump. Anyway: Great video, I watched maybe 5 or 6 cutter "reviews" and only this "force" me to consider check it again and maybe buy one. Great job.

I'm very much enjoying mine as a new player. Picked it for looks and the sort of character I wanted to play, I'm not that much into PvP or heavy FPS combat, more of en explorer and person willing to carry stuff here and there. I've not tried, but is there any reason why passengers could not travel, in great discomfort of course, in the cargo bay or sitting on the bed? I've passed up on a couple of beacons that were close by not knowing that one.

It's got so much Q fuel. Put that Civ A drive the Alpha or something on it and it's going to go forever at a decent speed. Put a industrial one on and a willingness to take the time and you'll never refuel that sucker.

Avenger Titan is probably the best tier 2 starter ship, but comparing the cutter between the available tier 1 ships, this is the best imo.

What I like about it is that the retro thrusters are very powerful so you can fly almost all the way at full thrust then only chop the engine at the last moment. NOTE: don't try that if you are in VTOL mode as that swivels the retro thrusters upwards 😏

I really dislike having the lock only usable from one side... You can easily lock yourself out of the toilet... And less easily lock yourself out of the cockpit... Quite a good way to troll people that leave their ships open.

First the software developers would have to progam all of that stuff in. And as they are doing much of it - I don;t think it will become as fine-grained as you are hoping. And it's already been 10 years of development time - we don't need it to go another 10-20 eyars before they release the game.

it's the cheapest ship you can use to mine with a ROC . And the fastest to travel around with this huge quantum tank and a VK-00 . Also the worst for pve ( pvp) bounty mission , but fast enough to flee . So well, if ship to ship pve is not your thing, at 45 $ , it IS the best starter ship for now AND an excellent daily driver .

From an aerodynamical point of view this bulky box can't even lift itself two feet in the air. SC is a wonderfully bizarre game, spending tons of time and your money to craft the most realistic looking rivers and sand caves on the very few planets it manages to keep up, but at the same time creating these idiot spaceships that in reality can never fly.

I'd say it's the best low tier starter ship, as an alternative to the Mustangs and Auroras. But the Nomad and Titan exist, so it's far from the best starter overall.

Not enough room for an ROC !!! What an oversight. Only 4 SCU cargo.... not my idea of a 'great' or 'the best' starter ship. Love the general level of polish on all the new ships but, for me, the Cutter is next to useless.

Well in fact you can use it to transport a ROC ( regular, not the DS ) . You can park it inside the cutter( normal, not in reverse ) , exit and drive the cutter around . You can't close the ramp, but the roc won't fall ( for now at least ) . You can't quantum drive ( well in theory you can, but it's clipping a lot, so explosion may happens ) , but usually when you mine with a ROC you go to the planet, then claim the ROC from a bay, so not really an issue there . Granted, it's simpler to do it with a ship made for it ( nomad , cutlass, freelancer max, etc ... ) , but it's not really hard to do .
