Alright, I just wanna preface my criticism here by saying that I do like the overall work and think that most of the cuts and edits you have in mind for this are well done and well executed; especially the splicing of San Andreas with Final Destination, I said before that Final Destination is basically a Superman movie without Superman; and a few of the cuts work with those. My personal favorite edit is the scene from space where Superman witnesses in utter horror the explosion going off and he flies to the explosion, that’s really cool and I alone would just love to see that edited in Superman 1 as well! I also love the work on fixing the green/blue screen on the farmers when they witness Superman and the Rocket fly by; I seen many fan edits that alter the special effects of the first movie and it makes me happy to say you are the ONLY one who even bothered to fix it and fix it correctly! Well done! But I must confess, I feel that it is a bit much; to have that level of destruction and focus in the people in the newer films I feel is where the sequences show the effects and damage and people freaking out in the ensuing damage not only messes with the tone of the scenes but also makes movies less like enhancements to the scenes like you had with the aforementioned nuclear explosion from space or the Superman saving Jimmy Olsen scene where the cracks in the damn start getting dusty and Superman flying through the water; or the fixed blue/green screen on the Farmers fixing the fence while the missile and Superman fly by them. I feel like to make this edit work best would be the more is less approach, where the changes are enhancements, small things that make the movie looks more crisp and clean in a way that feels modernized without trying in essence to modernize the movie itself by splicing footage from another movie for a noticeably significant part of time. This next point is also something you should note and it is a problem I noticed in the Donner Cut too; if Superman travels back in time in this version of the movie [presumably], how are Zod, Ursa and Non freed still? Freeing them before Superman travels back in time always bugged me because it creates an even bigger paradox than what Superman did to achieve the time travel feat in the first place. I think bringing back the France Bomb in the original Superman II is better for that reason, it is more charming and it is one of the few times I outright prefer the original version over the Donner Cut and I figured you should be made aware of that. I don’t expect a response or answer from you as this video is a year old and I only just discovered your project but I do hope you are working it still. With some of the decisions being a little dubious to me, I think you are doing a good effort and I am interested to see a final product if still in the cards.

I disagree with you on the Theater cut Paris scene and by the way the Donner version is the original version Lester came in and reshot that scene to the Paris version. It just makes more sense that it was the first nuke that would of freed Zod.

As i remember the Donner cut the original idea was the 1st film was supposed to end with the second nuclear bomb being redirected into outer space by superman and it then destroys the phantom zone instead of the 2nd bomb creating an earthquake which frankly doesn't really make sense, and the reverse time idea happens at the end of superman 2 putting Gen Zod and company back in the phantom zone so essentially the Donner cut means The events of superman 2 are reversed at the end of the movie so Lois finding out superman's identity is erased from her mind

So far great edits and fixing the color where it was off and dull. I like the effect with the nuclear explosion in space. I'm looking forward to a version like this where cuts scenes were shown on channel 7 in the 1980's. And even a version like this for superman 3 with all the cut scenes were shown on channel 7. Superman 4 maybe. I think a combination of Richard Donner's cut and the cut scenes shown on channel 7(I believe the cut scenes are from the richard donner cut) would be anywhere from about 2 hours and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It will be interesting to see where this version is in the next 2 years. Right now, it's very clearly significantly creating crisp edge detection where the copy offered contrast lines, but the less contrasted areas have blurs, streaks, and the old cinematic frame tearing that made that 1970's cinema visual so indistinct around rapid movement and action. If you applied frame by frame AI upscaling for detail, with Corridor Crew's anti-flicker routine on animation and some basic generative AI Lora training around the main characters, i wonder if you could achieve modern quality by simply upscaling it and then doing a frame interpolation to add the mid-frames with an image to video system. Even just doubling up the frames and first increasing resolution so you could get in the details with generative AI, then decreasing them to the desired resolution might genuinely result in a modernized version of the film. Great work overall. I'm just pointing it out because the technology is changing so rapidly right now.

Hay thanks for your comment and your input... This edit that your seeing is a few years old,, I've updated it since then and Havnt uploaded it yet. You're correct about the upscaling, But I'm now working from 4K material instead of 1080 which I was before... I don't know what the Corridor Crews Anit FLikering Method is.. Another problem I have Im using a Graphics card from Like 10 years ago. Im still use Nvidia 1080, simply because I can't afford it, so working is extremely slow because of this

I like what you did here. Although the galaxy additions seem to take away from the original retelling of Superman 1. OCD note: 1:06:12:19 the side of the moon facing the Krytonians should be facing Earth. Kudos for adding the dome over JorE'l's workshop in the overhead and fixing the rebellion arrest.
