My theory is that the Justice League International are owner by the Government who distribute heroes to whomever can afford them. So, essentially, heroes for hire and hence forth the international part. Superman is a Rogue agent who does so out of kindness and respect for human life.

I also think lex got a hold of Kryptonian dna, which explains the Bizarro that huge abominations monster thing in the trailer and Krypto. I also believe Kara is on earth and lex found her, and she's in stasis, and lex extracted the dna from her. I also believe Wonder Woman will make a cameo. To quote Gunn, "Heroes have been around for a while," so hopefully I am wrong because if I am right, not only was it predictable, but I spoiled it for myself, lol.

I am SO glad that they've bought the trunks back! The trunks are a major part of his uniform and, let's be honest, true fans don't think that they look stupid because they have been a part of his uniform since day 1. According to James Gunn, these heroes are already established in the world, so their presence naturally complements Superman’s story. It’s not about overshadowing him but showing how he fits into a larger world of heroes. If done right, it could actually enhance his journey and make it even more impactful!
