@jeffo93966 жыл бұрын
How does my opinion on whether it was intentional or not make me a smart ass? If that's what you think, then you're a jack ass. And no, that was not a fall, that was a slip. The slip LOOKS unintentional, and it very well could have been. You don't know that it wasn't. There's in fact a lot of scenes in movies that were unintentional that the director decided to keep. One was in the movie 'Big' where Tom Hanks character sprays silly string at his friend, and part of it gets stuck on his nose. That wasn't supposed to happen, but the director liked it, so he kept it in.

Classic Clark, yes. Classic Christopher Reeve, not really. All I'm saying is that it looks like he slipped a little more than he was supposed to. Yes, the script said for him to slip, but it just looks like Christopher Reeve himself was a bit surprised by how he slipped in the way he throws his arms back.

Oh this movie, so many problems. The score by John Williams is spot on though. Especially for this segment, where he intertwines the "Superman theme, "Love theme" and "Lacy's theme". Follows what is happening on screen to a tee.
@williamshaw90476 жыл бұрын
Williams contributed two new themes to the film, one for Nuclear Man and one for Lacy...however, the score was "composed" (more like re-arranged from Williams's previous themes) by Alexander Courage, who Williams recommended for the job. Courage had orchestrated a few of Williams's previous scores. I kind of feel sorry for him; he didn't really get to do any original work on the film and Cannon played it cheap with the recording of the score. The first film's score was performed by the London Symphony, probably more than 100 players, and I think the score for IV was done by the Graunke in Munich. The Graunke isn't a bad orchestra by any means, but it's hard to match the power of a major orchestra like the London Symphony.
@jedijones3 жыл бұрын
@@williamshaw9047 Williams also did Jeremy's theme. This score is much more than a rearrangement of Williams' themes. You could describe Superman II that way, but not really this one. These are unique compositions with a lot of variation in how the themes are executed.

It sends chills down my spine and a feeling of almost impending doom knowing what would happen 14 years later. It also gives a sense of irony as this move was titled ‘Quest for peace.’ And those towers became a symbols of the struggle for peace and the price it can have. I know this wasn’t intended at all and was just made for a quick money grab but I still find just this one moment of pure coincidence at least in my mind took on a greater meaning after 911.

You know that Superman 4: The Quest for Peace was one of my favorite Superman films when I was very little, course I never saw the first, second, & third films that much. Anyway, if the Christopher Reeves' Superman films were made the right way from the late-70s through the 80's (maybe til the early 90s?), could they have included villains such as Metallo, the Parasite (with the theme of being about the dangers of using drugs?), Bizzaro (portrayed by someone like Sylvester Stallone with the concept of the character being like Frankenstein's Monster?), Brainiac (portrayed by Donald Pleasence?), etc. Course the special effects would have to continuously evolve throughout the franchise since I have read that the special effects from Superman 3 were among the couple of positives from that film. And I also think that Lois Lane should have been casted by someone else instead of Margot Kidder. Guess that could be among the tasks of correcting film franchises when it will come to time-travel. But I would do it nonetheless.
