This episode was sad but the moment Clark takes off the glasses and everyone realizes he’s Superman was just so perfect 😂 Also my own (hopeful) theory is they’ll be able to eventually get Clark back but he won’t have powers. Also also, Tyler Hoechlin does not get the respect he deserves for playing the man of steel. He is probably my favorite so far.

I thought that for a second, but the fact that the camera panned away so quickly told me that recognizing his name would be important, but not so much his face. Usually if they’re going to introduce an important character such as J’onn, they’d linger on the face for a beat. Plus, with how unabashedly this show leans into comic-bookiness (the glasses removal scene for example 😂), I doubted that thought because I’d find it hard to believe that they’d change his name like that.

she was apologetic and tried to explain but he didnt guve her a chance. of course him being upset is justified but if he let her explain and didn't keep cutting her off and throwing things in her face he would've realised that her picking jon was the logical choice. in a situation where she thought both boys could die , picking the one that's powerless was the logical answer. Jordan could defend himself which he did and he's been saying for multiple seasons that he's ready and can take care of himself. however him hearing that with no context is gonna make him feel hurt and heartbroken especially given his insecurities and anxiety, he should've at least let her explain the way she always let's him

Lois wasn't given any information on what was happening with either of them- all she knew was both were in danger. was she supposed to expect that the same day jordan went after luthor, he went right back? no, she expected him to at least listen and not make rash decisions. plus becuse she chose jon, maybe Luther didn't go there because he found out her choice and instead went after jordan.

I feel like Johnathan getting his powers somewhat parallels his brother getting his powers. Jordan got his powers trying to save his brother. pain and loss at loosing someone you love.. Johnathan after loosing his dad and going through grief. Clark already had his powers but even he parallels this shift into his true self after loosing his dad. I like to think its cannon that he has a secret lens flair power when removing eyewhere.

From what I recall, some form of the serum containing Superman's blood revived Bizarro Superman from death. It wasn't clear how alive or undead Bizarro was. Doomsday was created by Lex repeatedly killing Bizarro Superman. I think the speculative discussion about the serum creating a second monster was a deliberate mislead for the audience and a reflection that the DOD was unaware of what transpired between reviving Bizarro and him becoming Doomsday. Only Lex and the audience are aware of what Lex did to Bizarro to transform him into Doomsday. Lucy apparently got the Sophie treatment. If you're not in an episode, it's like the writers forget you exist. Nice to see Martha Kent again. Last time we saw her was in season 1. Glad they could get the same actor who originally portrayed her. They mention that before Gen. Lane was shot he had a plan to find someone to willingly donate their heart to save Superman. That would seem fatal to the donor. Your poll could have been, if Gen. Lane had approached about you about donating your heart to save Superman, would you and why?

I think the consequence for Clark will be he will live a normal human life expectancy than a Kryptonian. Because at the end of the day, it is a human heart and it will last as long as a human would, but he will still have his powers and stuff.

Jordan has the emotions and lacked the physical aptitude to channel it, and got his powers when his body had to adapt to withstand damage to save his brother. Jonathan always had the physical aptitude but kept suppressing his emotions, and he got his powers when his mind had to adapt to help him cope with the flux of emotions. Now they both got the best of both worlds. They need both the body and mind to unlock, like a super saiyan: you can't just become super saiyan without the training of body but also tapping into primal emotion/energy and quite literally here : his rage. Also if you think about bizarro world, it's bizarro JONATHAN that had the powers there but that's because over there he was the "emo" kid, not bottling his emotions. And that bizarro jordan that didnt have his powers because he didnt get a chance to put himself out there, and since his family was in the spotlight from publicity, he had to suppress his own feelings and stay in the shadows, and didn't get a chance to neither improve his mental nor strength, worst of both worlds.

@@BeJaminYeh Good point. Except… the writers can make it happen if they want to. :) For example, using powers is damaging the human heart and it will kill him. So the technology in the fortress has to remove his powers and make him human (like the 2nd Christopher Reeve movie). And then the fortress is destroyed in a final battle with Doomsday, so the process can never be reversed. I’m sure the writers can come up with a better scenario than that.

Why are people acting like Jordan's powers were somehow a plus during that damn phone call? The boys were being threatened by Luthor. Luthor controls Doomsday. Doomsday killed Superman. This means that Luthor is fully capable of killing Jordan fairly easily. Lois knew this. She shouldn't have picked either of her kids. It was a trap and she fell for it*. And instead of making stupid excuses when Jordan confronted her, she should've been properly apologetic and admitted she screwed up. But what does she do? Raises her voice and hides behind her anger so she doesn't have to justify blatantly favoring one son over the other. *She also should have realized that Luthor was recording it and was going to throw it in Jordan's face. Lois was an idiot, but people love her and hate Jordan, so most people aren't paying any attention to it.

My thoughts on Jon getting powers this. Last episode Jordan commented on Jon always being in control and not letting anything phase him. He needed an emotional impetus to kick start his powers. I think because Clark now has a human heart he will age like a regular human. So he can now grow old with Lois, and eventually retire and pass the torch to his super powered sons.

Superman's getting a MUCH smaller dose of the serum than Doomsday. The serum had time to spread throughout Sam's bloodstream, and the average adult has about 5,000 mL of blood, and about 100 mL of that is in the heart. So Superman's getting about 1/50 of the amount of serum Sam injected in himself. That isn't just a fan theory about the glasses, it was pre-Crisis canon that they were made of a special Kryptonian glass that somehow made him unrecognizable when he wore them.

I think Clark will become like All Might after he was seriously injured in his fight with All for One. Clark still has his powers, but they are significantly weaker than before and he can only use his powers for so long each day. Overusing them puts too much strain on his new heart.

Keep in mind that Bizarro superman was DEAD dead, whereas clark's superman is in "suspended animation. The way I see it, maybe bizarro's body already started decaying, whereas superman's death was fresh, and even if his heart was removed, maybe it didnt kill off all his solar energy in his body, but the problem is that his heart is not PUMPING that blood/energy across his cells, causing him to be in statis, and the colonel's heart injected with the serum would keep the heart alive and strong enough for a donor's card, and let superman's own body transmit his solar energy and own blood to his own cells, allowing his body to heal like he would normally do. My point is, i think that it's not the fact that it's an "organ" that's missing, but more of the fact that it's his HEART that was missing... If this were his lungs for example only, i like to believe that his heart would keep pumping that blood while clark is holding his breath and it will regenerate his own lungs?

Exactly. Jordan said earlier in the season that Superman's heart had 3 beats while humans' beat twice. So Superman's is now beating twice to show the heart transfer was successful and he now has Sam's heart in him

As a superman and comicbook fan i can´t belive im crying for Sam Fuking Lane, i need it those flashbacks to remember how of an asshole he was in the beguining of the show, but thats how good this show with character development to the poin that they make him one of my favorite characters and in a show full with incredible emotional scenes his goodbye to Lois is up there to one of the best and most emotionals things i ever watch, god i love this show!!!

Doomsday killing Sam was hard to watch but I always imagined Clark getting Tal’s heart, not Sam’s. I don’t think this heart will make him weaker, but make him age like a human. I think he comes back stronger because of the serum.

I think the main change in Clark will be that he will start to age now. This way they are going to avoid the whole Lois and the boys aging and him staying the same messy ending.

It may be a temporary fix. Because it's likely that the heart Lex destroyed was not Clark's, and that Lex still has that stashed away -- otherwise, why have the 'brainiac' create that special case. So they may do something like: "Clark, you were saved, but this heart cannot withstand your Kryptonian physiology much longer."

I will never understand why the DC shows are so good and the movies are just... meh. This Superman 🦸‍♂️ death felt earned and real. I feel the sadness and hopelessness of it all. Lex is terrifying. But Supermans death in the movies just felt like plot point A to plot point B. I didn't FEEL anything. The fear in Tyler's eyes 👀 when he looks at his family and says "no" shook me. ❤

I think Clark might struggle to regain his powers and will have to defeat Doomsday using his intellect instead of strength. Also he might have a limit on his lifetime. He would age like a human with Lois. This is the best Superman series or movie I have seen.
