Thanks for a very informative use of math channels. I'm fairly new to Pico, but I'm totally into it. This is the first time I've seen "Deep Measure" in use in any of the on line videos. Also love the caution. Too many people think of a tool like this as fact. Everything should be interpreted with caution. More often than not, it's not the tool that is in error, It's the interpreter!

Great vid my friend. And like you said, this will get you in trouble as well. I myself have made the wrong call on a CKP sensor signal not to long ago. 2010 3.6L GM Popping into the intake / start stall, some times crank no start. Made since right, CKP dropping out, or having more transitions than normal. Other great feature is falling edge count. Which on this vehicle was 58-65 and it should have been 58 notches every time. But it takes way more time to find a glitch/drop out for sure. Once i realized i made the wrong call, i started to look at better ways of requiring that same signal so it didn't happen again. #1 thing was grounding your trace off the battery, NOT the block as i was originally! And #2, being mindful of where your leads are running across/over! But you want to talk about a great feature, This is it. Thanks for sharing, and thank for taking the time. BTW, the problem on said vehicle was water in the gas, which took the injectors out. Have a great New Year brother!

Is that the frequency of the bad cam sensor or crank? Can I just set my scope to frequency and see drop outs better? I have hantek 2 ch. Or can I put 1 lead on the signal watching voltage and connect the 2nd lead to the signal but watching frequency?

With the help of another, more intelligent KZbinr, he provided me with a formula to graph injector on time. It's not perfect, and may be delayed, but it's as good as I can get at the moment! 1000/freq(A) is period time in milliseconds. duty(A) is 100 * (approximately ON-time) divided by the period time. So use 10*duty(A)/freq(A) and you will approximately get the ON-time in milliseconds.

I wish PICO would have put a little more effort into a manual, explaining each of these menu choices under the math tab. The automotive scopes seem to be missing some features that might have been nice, for example RMS voltage. I probably just need more practice.

It's a need to know basis 😆 jk they do have some info in their site. This one does show rms by the way!
