I love this episode for establishing the idea of not all monsters are evil--it makes for a more sophisticated narrative and requires Sam and Dean to explore even greater moral ambiguity than simply 'monster = bad' by default.

It's easier when everything is black or white. Now there is a shade of grey in something that was such a simple equation. Just like life as you grow older. Love this paralell; it helps to add new layers to the characters and gives us even more reasons to need to continue the journey with them 💙

I love this episode, just because it shows that Dean is going through a lot with John's death, and that goes to show because of how much bloodlust he had and how unphased he was to kill anything. And even though he was going through a lot and even clocked Sam because of how much anger he had, he still felt remorseful afterwards and wanted Sam to hit him back. That just shows that Dean can be a dick sometimes, but he always feels like an ass afterwards, and makes up for it in the future.

There was so much to unpack with this video 😂 Ya'll looked a little confused when Gordon said "it's not a crime to need your job" I think he meant it was okay for Dean to need the release of killing monsters to help him through his loss. Nathan was spitting nothing but facts this episode on Sam's hair and Spiderman. Tom Holland is the best in my opinion cause he embodies everything a kid would actually be dealing with as a superhero. I'm gonna need to see more appreciation for Sam, Dean was awesome this episode but Sam literally found their hideout by counting minutes while blindfolded as well as be the bigger person when Dean hit him coz he knew he wasn't in a good place. It's not always about who saves who or who fights the best. And just a funfact, Jensen was almost cast as Captain America and now he's gonna be playing Soldier Boy in The Boys S3. When this episode first aired, I saw Lenore and went "OMG, Tara!" because I was a Buffy fan first, lol. But don't diss Doctor Who, Cameron! There's a brilliant husband and wife duo that teams up with the Doctor and there's plenty of episodes that are amazing and/or rip your heart out.
