we finally get the explanation for the "it always had to be you" line that has been repeated to Sam by the various villains that the Winchesters faced. Sam was destined to be Lucifer's vessel, and everything done to him (and his family) up to this point by the demons was to bring him to his destiny.

the juxtaposition of sam being lucifer's true vessel and "the boy with the demon blood" and dean being michael's true vessel and "the righteous man" is so interesting especially when you think of how they started out in season 1. sam was the good, innocent one with all the potential to do great things in life, dean was the fucked-up one that genuinely believed he was a bad person with no future ahead of him, and now their roles are completely reversed (not to say michael's "good", he's just the counterpart to the literal devil)

I like how Dean is clearly very nervous & out of his element when facing Raphael. Like, yes he's a hardened warrior, but he's only human & angels are legit forces of nature. Cas leveled a whole forest pulling Dean's soul from hell, Raphael blacked out the entire eastern seaboard just _entering_ his vessel Angels are on another level entirely & Dean tried to play it cool but he was very much uneasy & freaking out despite Cas' assurances that no angel would dare harm him

Everytime when Rafael talks about God, I feel goozebumbs. The whole scene when Cas interegating Rafael is really good written. That lost and longing for father that you hear in archsngel's voice is really gets me. And ngl in this scene I see the reference in Misha's acting to John Constantine (one of the inspiration for Castiel character). Really, that line "maybe one day, but today you are my little bitch" is totally Constantine.

Demore Barnes is one of those SPN actors that _understood_ the assignment. He comes across as ancient & weary & beyond powerful. This is one of my favorite angel scenes for his acting alone!

Although season 5 was supposed to be the end of the show, supernatural's views dropped dramatically in season 3 and it seemed like it would get discontinued at the end of season 3 but then Misha's (Cas) appearance in season 4 allowed views to skyrocket as everybody including Jensen and Jared adore Misha. Jensen mentioned that Misha brought this show to another level and if he hadn't come on the show, Jensen said he wouldn't have done this show for 15 seasons. I can't wait for you guys to react to the bloopers cause you'll see why J2M (jensen, jared, and misha) work so well together. J2 love messing with misha on set, pulling pranks on him, and making him laugh. Jensen says that it's because he loves misha so much and because it's also a sign of affection to mess with him and make him break character

WHAT...!? I have been in this fandom since 2005 and have NEVER heard Jensen say anything like that. Please link me so I can see for myself. I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong if you can provide evidence to the contrary. I have NEVER heard or seen anyone credit Misha, specifically, for keeping the show running for 15 years. Does he contribute to the success...? Yes. But it's not all about him. J2, the network heads, showrunners and cast have ALWAYS said the show hinged on J2 and the brothers. Full stop. Misha himself had nothing to do with the initial success of S4. It was the angel storyline that opened the SPN universe to a multitude of new possibilities. Yes, Misha became a fan favorite and they kept him around, but the success of the entire show did not nor would ever rest on an actor that is in less than half the episodes per season. Logically, if that was the case then they would have promoted him to full lead and capitalized on his success, and he would have jumped at that chance. Misha has always said that he would love to do more with the show and make a fraction of what J2 made. S3 did poorly because of the writers strike... but even then, it did better than S5. S2 and S4 ranked THE SAME. So please share where you have seen the numbers "skyrocket". The numbers and the stats don't lie...but people in fandom WILL and DO lie to manipulate people into believing all kinds of BS. I swear...the lore surrounding the show that has been created by fans is faker than what's actually IN the show.

Angels don't reproduce (plus they're all siblings) they weren't born, they were created. Anna herself tells Dean she believes eating, falling in love & sex to be human things (things she wasn't privy to as an angel) I think Cas was more nervous from not knowing why Dean was goading him into this (and being in a "den of inequity") than anything

Anna does say angels can't feel things, but we have evidence throughout the show that angels definitely do experience emotions and love. There are plenty of angels that have sex in the show, and we can clearly see Castiel develop emotions as the show goes on.

I love this episode. There is so many great parts. Cas and Dean had many funny moments as well Sam who had some good moments. I loved that they brought Jess back. I know it was Lucifer but still. I don’t think there is anyone better for Sam relationship wise and if Lucifer pretended to be anyone else it wouldn’t have been as good.

I don’t think so much Dean is fearless, but vicious and willing to do whatever he can to protect those he cares about. If it’s him he doesn’t really care. A lot of his bravado may come from a place of fear, not necessarily lack of fear.

The back and forth scenes between Sam and Dean's current lives were cool. The Cas and Dean moments this episode were hilarious, especially Cas. I love how Dean mentioned that the whole brothel industry is practically built on absent fathers. Cas really shouldn't mention things like that to those girls. Gave Dean a good laugh, though, which he apparently hasn't had in a long time. Shout-out to Lindsay for working in a bar while recovering from alcohol for three years. That's some real strength. Raphael is pretty.. intimidating, to say the least. It seems that Cas may be the only angel that believes God is still alive. I guess him and Dean are alike in a way. Both searching for their absent fathers, and not believing the worst, even if it may be the truth. Damn. I like the theory that Lucifer was the one who resurrected Cas, because he needs more fallen angels on his side. It kinda makes some sense if you think about it. Props to Sam for fucking up those hunters. Those guys really didn't know what they were up against. That whole last scene was great. And at last, we have the reveal that Sam is Lucifer's one and only true vessel, just as Dean is Michael's true vessel. Pretty poetic. Awesome reaction guys! Excited for the next! 💯🔥

Season 5 was never supposed to be the end. They were never sure of renewal and feared it might be the last season, but never wanted it that way. Kripke hoped it would continue and everything was written with the intention of it continuing, but he also wanted it to be a satisfying ending if it didn't get renewed.

He originally didn't even plan on adding angels to the show, so he didn't have the arc for s4 and 5 planned ahead of time. Kripke left showrunning because he wanted to do other things, but that doesn't mean the show was meant to end at s5 and people should stop watching then

Cas' innocence of human customs is always awkwardly adorable and Dean's one liners are some of the most iconic in the series. However, I hate the fact that Sam and Dean are apart. I can't believe Cameron is a John stan. And don't get me wrong, you can stan whoever you want, but sorry to tell you, your boy was a bum. Yes, John was a great hunter and he taught Sam and Dean the basics and gave them the skills and tools to be great hunters and to survive. However, as a father he was distant and absent. He left Dean to raise and take care of Sam when he, as their father, is supposed to be the one raising and taking care of them. Instead, he chose to go on a revenge hunt than look after his children. But I guess that's father of the year, right? And you wonder why Dean has the issues that he has. That's John's doing. And Mary, the love of his life, dying is no excuse for the way he neglected and abused his children. Period. Anyway, another great episode. Just as in the premiere episode the standout moment was Dean finding out he was Michael's vessel, the same goes for this episode when Sam finds out he is Lucifer's vessel. And it's funny that Lucifer told Sam he would never lie to him or trick him and yet he used Jessica's image to try and sway him. Dean, in the car scene, finally thinking about himself was refreshing. But what I love, and this is credit once again to Jensen's acting, is that you can't tell whether Dean really meant what he said about being happy without Sam, or whether he was saying that because he was still hurt and angry.

Because all Dean has ever done is for Sam. He's just still mad about this demon blood shit. He still feels like Sam betrayed him in the ultimate way & he's not over it. It was so funny with Cas! I have to say to Cameron that I like John, too. He was a great hunter but a lousy father after Mary died. Dean raised Sam, not John. However, John did make the ultimate sacrifice for Dean, his life. John was not a good father. He raised them as hunters, and taught them about demons. Good. But he also neglected his children on a quest for vengeance. Prime example is s3 when he blamed kid dean when sam got hurt by a demon. We see there dean was doing the parenting role

And she didn't even know what the hell she was signing up for in the first place she was tricked. John is the product of what happened with Mary sadly and he kind of pushed that on his kids. Does an excuse all the trauma he put them through.

@@brandyjohnson738 I agree that Mary was manipulated and John traumatized his kids. Not sure if you’re in the John was a bad dad camp, but I think he was, even if he had the best intentions (which is debatable) but he still took unnecessary risks when responsible for very young children.
