Meryl Williams found fame on TV show 'The Traitors' stealing the hearts of the public on one of the most talked about reality shows from 2023. Meryl has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia but she's never let it hold her back. Now she hopes to use her platform to show people that having a different body doesn't affect what you can achieve. In this episode Meryl talks about dealing with the impact of negative comments, the importance of seeing diversity in the media and how she stays positive.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tasha Ghouri was watched daily by over three million people as part of the country’s most popular reality series - Love Island - and became a breakout star. But what sets Tasha apart is her superpower. Something which once made her feel like an outcast is now her greatest source of strength and community. Tasha’s superpower is her identity as a Deaf woman, but what’s yours? In this podcast Tasha invites special guests to celebrate the things that make us different.
Superpowers with Tasha is proudly sponsored by Cadbury's Fingers' 'Sign with Fingers Big and Small' campaign, in partnership with the National Deaf Children's Society.

That was really educational and emotional (got me !) We can all benefit from learning more about others superpowers and struggles in day to day society. I hope that anyone who feels its ok to laugh/point at anyone with dwarfism learns a thing or two from seeing Meryl upset in this podcast and thinks twice about doing it again. Not only that, I hope they spread the word that it is not acceptable to hurt another human being in that way. Well done Tash and Meryl x

I really related to what Meryl said about the understanding of discrimination against disabled people is lagging so far behind other minority groups. It’s still seen as acceptable to make jokes and hurtful comments about disability in a way it wouldn’t be about other minorities. That’s why representation is so important to help raise awareness and reduce harmful attitudes based off outdated stereotypes. You are both creating a better world for little Tasha’s & Meryl’s so thank you ☺️

These are honestly amazing Tasha, I can't get enough of them. They are so educational and shed light on so many different issues that I, and I'm sure loads of others, would have never even thought about before. I (and probably even more so those that have similar experiences) appreaciate the representation and normalising everything and everyone! Own your superower as you should ⚡ Keep up the amazing stuff! Lots of love 🫶
