Look up “hobby lobby illegal artifacts”, “hobby lobby coronavirus response”, and “hobby lobby Supreme Court” Basically they illegally purchased a ton of artifacts from Iraq for the “Museum of the Bible” in Washington DC which I’m pretty sure has also has been proven to have fake items on display at some point. Then they lobbied to make it illegal for employers to be forced to cover contraceptives(birth control) for their employees healthcare bc it conflicted with their religious beliefs (keep in mind most Americans get healthcare only from their employers, and birth control is expensive without healthcare bc America😒) and then they kept stores open during the beginning of the pandemic because they claimed that God spoke to them and told them to. So its a surprisingly long list of kind of weird things they’ve done but I’m paraphrasing here

Here is an art hack! *When you get a cheap sketchbook (that has a hard brown cover at the back) You can treat it just like toned paper for realism drawings. So it could save you money having to buy a full toned sketchbook. (Only if you don't do as much realism drawings/ drawings with pushed values)*

Honestly not worth it. Only buy supplies you need. I once spent $600 on art supplies (store was going out of business and everything was on clearance...) and have yet to really touch the art supplies. It's fun to buy, but at the end of the day it's also better to have money and know when you need something you can just go and buy it. Now I have art supplies and stress because I have not used them.

I’m really late I’m sorry! Anyway happy new year and I hope you had an amazing year, even though all the crisis with COVID-19 and other things but. Rae you’ve honestly made me smile throughout the year and one of my all time favourite art KZbinrs, I love art with a passion but I was too scared to show my art to my family and other people. But thanks to you always giving wonderful messages, making me laugh and always giving good art advice, I was able to finally come out of my shell and now my family is doing there best the save up money so I can go to college to get a art degree. I really thank you for that, you’ve inspired me to put emotion to my art and find my own style, your an amazing artist as well as an amazing person. My favorite mediums to work with for my drawings is nupastels. They’re kind of like oil pastels, but less oily. You can some of the most beautiful blending and they’re so easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend using them! I think you’d love them!!! They’re by Prismacolor 😁

Y'all do not get those art mannequins They will hinder you, especially if you don't understand basic anatomy. They're so stiff. It reflects in your work. There are other options. They're expensive but you get what you pay for. Also google images provides better references than those mannequins 😭 Sincerely, Someone who learned the terror of these bastards at art school after my professor raged and snapped its useless head off before dumping it in the trash.

Bruh, people have different art styles, they work for different people. You can get better quality ones for cheap. I have 5 of them and I use them all the time. Google images to me, have no depth have no dimension, just flat. They DO NOT work as references for me.

I feel the same about Hobby Lobby, BUT they still have a 40% off coupon, where Michaels seems to have discontinued that coveted coupon.
