I remember playing this when I was young. I remember crying when Selan died. But then I remember this music shaking me out of it and forcing me into a sense of fear and urgency to save Jerin. Then when I played this game again after becoming a father, this song had even more of a profound impact.

Even as a kid I knew this game was amazing but It wasn't until I got older that I fully appreciated how deep and emotional the story was. Now the ending gets me choked up whenever I play through it again.

@@TheOfficialDJSuperRaveman It is the prequel to the first game, which was very much more a JRPG based on the then standard JRPG forumlae. This one was similar, but different in many ways. Helped by the fact that the dev team had more experience with designing for the Super Famicom/Nintendo as well as pushing the limits of the sound chip, which is why the music in Lufia 2 is so much better than the first game. Both are still MIDI, but they now had more experience with it and could put together something that took advantage of how many more sound channels it had and was almost on par with Nobuo Uematsu's works for the Final Fantasy games on the same system. And I say "almost" due to just how good Uematsu was with composing for the same system and the man has a well deserved reputation for a reason. The DS Remake was okay, I actually found it fun, but it isn't classic Lufia 2 reskinned, but retooled as an ARPG. The fight against Gades is a lot more epic for it and it actually captures the eldritch abomination and/or inhuman nature of the Sinistrals quite nicely due to a better graphics engine. Also makes Erim that more tragic of a villain, with a lot of easter eggs in it for those who played the original version and pay attention to things in the remake. The story is more concise, but lacks elements of the world building. On the other hand, if you do it right, you can get a golden ending which averts the bittersweet ending of this game. Which is still the default ending in it, btw and you can't get the golden ending on the first playthrough.

Absolute perfection. The only remix of this grandiose track that can maintain the epic and tragic nature. Sadly, like the game, nowadays among the younger players and even the older ones, it will remain a hidden gem.

i so knew it...half way through you turn epicness into godlike. Really why bother listening the first half of the song, this is musical trolling - give us the impression we found the best remix and then topping yourself in the same track. So whenever the first half plays im just like "meh" and scroll to midway when greatness is unleashed. Not that the first half was bad but its like....getting served really good icecream and after having eaten half of it underneath appears superepic icecream...

Yea this one was a confusing one i had to search nearly everywhere on the internet for the themes real title but the remix itself is really awesome i must say that this game really does have such amazing music.

Canaris4 I think it is, but a lot of people who aren't 100% sure of the actual title tend to give it variations of the name. No one seems to be able to agree on a single, concrete title.
