You're really providing a great community service to everyone who watches your videos and who enjoy following your trips and stay in Southern Italy. I'm more a city kinda guy, so Palermo is a better fit for me, and getting our kids into the local schools to learn their maternal great grandparents' language (Italian!) is our priority #1. I came alone because their doctor-mom wouldn't let them travel overseas with their vaccinations, and because they are both under 12...we're still waiting for the CDC green light...so perhaps, next September we can can back all together..meanwhile, I'm researching the school and visa issues to be able to stay for a year or two, or forever Italia!!!!, if possible. We'll see.

It's been a long time dream of mine to move to Italy, tho I've never been, yet it resonates with me deeply. I hoped to travel there in May for my 60th birthday, but sadly, COVID dashed my plans. Keeping fingers crossed for 2021. Thinking of renting villa for a month or more to get a feel for the place. I'm tempted to make a drastic move, but in times of SO much uncertainty, probably not a good idea. It was suggested that Florence might be a good central location to rent, so I'll be looking for info about that...

I've seen those properties. 7K Euro for a long term (30 year) lease with a monthly maintenance charge of who knows what! You're amazing Chris! I feel like I have a friend that I can turn to when I get closer to buying a property in Italy. Thank you so much!

For this price they are often time shares. You get about 3 months a year. Also because of CV many hotels cant rent their rooms so they are ofering them...as you said long term rentals. many are real but you dent get your own place

The reason i made the comment is not because there aren't good competent doctors/specialists in Calabria or in Italy for that matter. The truth is that there are great professionals and i tip my hat off to them! The problem that i wanted to underline and remark on was rather how in each Region almost healthcare is delivered and distributed differently.....which is totally unfair to the people. I am sure you might have heard that many people from Calabria go to Milano or other cities in North Italy to be treated. I may add.... and i certainly do not wish to spoil your new found love for Calabria because i love Calabria and italy myself..........not only healthcare doesn't work as it should, .but also the social/political aspect is not one of the most rosy. But i am happy for you believe me......i also own a house in Calabria and do visit every year.
