The sexual dancing has always been like a ? for me like, especially the one where garnet throws pearl against the wall and expects steven to do it. The fusion dance has sometimes not even been necessary and they just fuse by holding hands
@Hydroux4915 Жыл бұрын
While I agree with your first point the reason a dance is not necessary for most of the gems now is because when you are close enough with the person your fusing with a dance isn’t necessary because your already in sync this is why Ruby and Sapphire are able to fuse without a dance and why Topaz can just hold hands to fuse
@Hade-Official Жыл бұрын
@@Hydroux4915 iirc the main reason why Topaz and the Rubies were able to fuse without effort is because of their being the same gemstone, so their loyalty to Yellow/Blue make sense to be as much a reason to be able to fuse, along with them being the same stone, as I said prior
@Hydroux4915 Жыл бұрын
@@Hade-Official Well in those scenarios your right but many other fusion’s don’t require dances like Steven and Amethyst due to their close sibling relationship they can by just hugging or shaking hands and as shown in Steven Universe future all the gems can now fuse without a dance due to being incredibly close with one another

The argument of Sugilite being more of an Amethyst and Ruby fusion and Sapphire just not being present just doesn't sit right with me. Remember in keystone motel when Sapphire just turned a blind eye to Ruby's concerns and frustrations and just says that she'll get over it and that she's over reacting. She completely looked over the process and went straight to when it was all resolved so Sugilite literally not caring about what Pearl says or really even caring about Steven's safety makes so much sense coming from Sapphire's side

2:41-2:44 YES!!! That is exactly how I felt about fusion in this show. Sure some of the dances were...strange but the more I thought about it while watching the entire show, the more the "different relationships" allegory made more sense.

Review from series ranking: "Amethyst and Garnet fuse to disable a large tower designed for interplanetary communication, then Pearl takes Steven and leaves Sugilite behind because they didn't listen to Pearl and doesn't particularly like her. Oh, yeah, and then Steven starts a gym- This isn't really as good as the previous fusion-themed episode because, well, half the episode is devoted to Steven starting a gym and a musical number. That's not to say it's a bad musical number, "Strong In The Real Way" is one of the best songs from Season 1. Anyways, Sugilite comes back and understandably gets pretty mad at Pearl, so they fight, and Pearl wins, and Garnet admits they should have listened to her, even though Garnet could've used her- I'm getting ahead of myself, we'll talk about that later. Also, Pearl is kind of awful in this episode. She appears to dislike Sugilite very much, despite her being very cheerful and excited to meet Steven and destroy the tower, she only got reckless and unstable when Pearl abandoned Sugilite, and she needed to walk across a presumably large chunk of the ocean to get back to Beach City, a perfectly good reason to get mad. It's really just an average episode, just below Steven's Lion, moving on."
@Brandoncreates20072 жыл бұрын
The worse thing Is that Sugilite only had three episodes to appear in I believe. Season four episode two doesn’t really count In my opinion cause In Sardynox’s own words: “She’s not actually In this episode, is she?” And Sugilite only talked in ONE FRICKING EPISODE!

Alright, I call bullshit on that second to last sin. When a fusion poofs, they separate into the gems fused into them, rather than poofing. We see this in a number of places, to name some, Obsidian and Malachite. This also carries over into the games, where the same thing happens. The only exception to this is at the end of The Return, where Garnet straight up poofs rather than separating into Ruby and Sapphire, but I think that can be put up to the destabilizer that Jasper used to do it, which literally splits her into pieces. And to the argument of why Sugilite didn’t split into Amethyst, Ruby and Sapphire, if I had to guess, it’s because the fusion splits into the gems used to make it, even if one of those gems is already a fusion, as we see when Obsidian is poofed and Garnet isn’t split into Ruby and Sapphire.

Ok when rewatching these I kinda see some hypocrisy. When Garnet uses future vision you sin for only seeing possibilities, when she doesn’t use it you sin for her not seeing the possibility.

It doesn't excuse the leg opening part but garnet's dance is specifically inspired by a dance style, it isn't inherently sexual to move your hips. And pearl covered Steven's eyes because she doesn't like sugilite. Moreover, in season 2, you can tell fusion is special to her because of her inferiority complex, she just wants to feel like more with someone, just like with Rose. Amethyst comes in and says fusing with garnet is something she likes because of her having similar issues. Fusion =/= Sex. If you saw it as that in s1/s2, you failed to see the nuances between the relationships between the gems and fusion

I have long since theorised that the reason the transmission hub activated was Homeworld trying to connect to Earth again. They sent out messages and transmissions to see what technology was left. Blue Diamond in her visits doubtfully mapped the technology present, bet she couldn’t because her ship is likely not equipped to connect with or ping it. Or maybe lightning happened, who knows.

We don't know if Garnet's future vision passes on to her fusions. Now suppose it doesn't (as we know Sapphire's future vision is different than Garnet's, so it changes after a gem fuses). If Garnet sees the future like Steven does in Winter Forecast, the moment she fused (during the vision) she would not be able to see the next outcome anymore, as she would not have her future vision anymore. So it would make sense she couldn't see Sugilite in the future

Maybe if the tower had defenses that Sardonyx could not handle or shut down it would makes sense why they would HAVE to form Sugilite, as they’re strong enough to break the defenses & tower but also stable enough to last long enough to do the job, unlike Alexandrite… Dunno, The artists could have added shitty looking oversimplified laser canons or some shit. Also garnet saying "we just need to be huge" doesn't make sense, compare garnet and amethyst standing on each other to garnet and pearl standing on each other. @JoseSerrato0420 Жыл бұрын
Fusion dances are designed to reminisce how you get lost in the moment that you lose yourself. Ironically, the more complex a dance the less intuned you are with a person. But, like most dances today, the form they take is very suggestive. Not just recent dances but for a few centuries where dance was a courting ritual (think balls for aristocrats). As it moves forward in the series the characters don't need to be as intricate to dance as they "lose themselves" more easily with each other. Stevonnie, Garnet, and Smokey fusions are an example of this loss of intricacies as they get closer. Meanwhile BlueBird couldn't fuse properly until they had a single consensus when fusing without a dance. So fusion isn't s3x, fusion is a relationship, and some relationships are easier to create when you know each other better, but a relationship built on s3x probably won't be stable I guess?
