I did this for years. Some good, some bad. Once reality sets in and you realize you don't own the Truck and that truck owns you, you just go with the flow. You have basically bought a minimum wage job and a place to live. You seem very easy going and your dog is the best. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.

My dad was stationed at Webb AFB in 1962 as the NCOIC of the engine shop. I was only 4 but still have good memories of the base pool, learning to ride my bike and catching horned toad lizards.

Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. Loved the side trip to the museum. Like seeing stuff from days gone by. Plus it’s part of your history. Nice to be able to pull over every once in a while just to smell the flowers. Truckers give up so much of there lives to be an OTR driver, especially an O/O like yourself. You always get a lot done but never in a panick or up against the windshield. Dan doesn’t get upset to often. Your unit looks great as always. Thanks for the video Dan. One of these days when you’re in Las Cruces you need to go down to that little restaurant called the shed for breakfast. My daughter went to school there for four years at the state and every time we went down to see her we go to the shed for breakfast it’s probably about 2 miles from where you’re at north be safe.

I am glad somebody is keeping these museum bases alive. None of the 3 ships I served on exist . San Diego Boot Camp deserted, Treasure Island all civilian(?): None of the buildings I used are there.. Long Beach Ship Yard (and Base) ??, Mare Island Navy Base (closed) . My uncle was serving at Ft Monroe (when I visited him ): closed. So many bases closed or in sad sad shape :(

Hello Dan! Great video! I've been blessed to work at WPAFB in Dayton Ohio as a plumber for the AF for 34 yrs. Best experience of my life! Been all over the museum n restoration hangars thousands of times! If you ever get a chance to check out! They have parking for big rigs if it's not on a SAT or Sunday, lot of walking, you could easily spend 3 or 4 days in there! They have a cafeteria upstairs, prices very reasonable. Check the map depending on which your going. I-35 to I-675n about 4mi, then follow the signs. The roads will accommodate your truck! Enjoy!! B safe! 🤟🤟

I was born in Merkel I finished high school and Snyder and then I had a job running electric motors, and Oldfield parts from Snyder to Odessa and back. I also later had a job, hauling air freight in a hot shot big C cans from Abilene to San Angelo to Midland from the big truck that came out of Dallas. Ha

Thanks for the museum tour and “crew photo”, especially the T38 goddess of fun. I am old enough, and fortunate enough, to have been around most of all those aircraft, even the T18. The T38 is the coolest jet I have seen; it is all about style.However, still my most favorite, the F4 is all being bad. The nostalgia of that visit and similar ones I have made to prior bases where I was stationed is so poignant a point in the history of our country to many. Thanks for the memories.

thats the mineral wells /stephenville exit... market fresh at merkel stop. that lot is bottomless after a good rain. i make that section of highway from east texas 4 times a week. theres a decent bbq joint in the chevron next to the stripes. a little pricey but better than average bbq. you need a proper bush hat and throw that crappy floppy hat in the trash.
