Yes! Because we(Japanese) love Hawaii, Hula🌺💕

yes, i see and admire that. however, as hawaiian we see our culture displayed as something that everyone feels they can do. but no one knows that we were banned to practice hula and our culture. this is more than a beautiful movement and the swaying of our hips, we’re telling a story. it’s something passed down from our kūpuna (ancestors). i understand and appreciate it, but us Hawaiians we are very protective over hula bc our language, culture, everything was forbidden.
