Support Build Basics - Star Trek Online

Hey Guys, in this video i give a basic run down of what supports do, Supporting in Star Trek online is quite the unique style that is basically not run by anyone, but if you wish to learn this i am available to help at any time in my discord or when i am streaming if you have questions.

Awesome vid, Support is a very interesting game play type. A few years back Spencer did a support build in the Legendary Glenn which I put on an alt, didnt get to use it much but it was very interesting. This is an awesome build and is on my build list to make. Thanks for these vids, really gets my creativity going.

Drop a good control into the middle of the Tachyon Net and it's just glorious. I set this up at the entry node on Kern System Patrol and the Mokai warp in and just die.

I really like playing support builds. And i'm really glad that Cryptic finally took up the long time calls to buff carriers and give us more stuff for effective support builds in the past year, finally making carriers a valid and worthwhile class to play. I just wish the Ahwanee console and trait stay broken like this forever it's just too much fun. :p Personally, i credit mostly Johnathan Herlache for this. Guy was a godsend as a systems designer.

I normaly run a damage build with consoles that help other and if I see someone in the red I will help them manly on the monthly missions nothing at your level tho🎉🎉

you should do a video on an actual run or at least go through it so people know roughly where to activate what. Otherwise, you might just get people spamming 10 universal consoles on the first group of borg and spend the next minute doing nothing. That's something I've always had trouble with, which also extends to space magic runs in ISE.

I second this, the sole reason why I don't do EPG. I have a mid-tier build, leaning towards premium but I just unload like a 30-second guy and just watch my abilities cooldown

couple ?s run disrupters are the pets worth fleet or dil upgrades what for defector or impulse? what the pink console next to the flagship? last som alternatives to the expensive one I do have most

Just run legit what ever beam arrays you have, the pets are worth the fleet upgrades, id run iconian 4pc for most people wanted to buff energy weapons, the pink console is dominion targeting synchronizer from the Jemhader Dreadnought

What are some go ships to use or types

So command ships are massive for support the Styx or kiwavi for tanking, the silik and glenn for supports but basically any command ship that can run gw1 and enough uncon will work

it looks like in here you skipped over the Deflector/shield/warp core/engines. What did you use for those?

For supporting energy weapons you want iconian 4 pc and if you are supporting you want Tilly shield and the rest gamma rep shield core engines

I say this to MCStu all the time, but if they need your help with where to get consoles, which consoles to get and other build help... They probably don't know what in the Hell "ISA" is. I got sick of asking so I looked it up. Maybe a term from the last 8 years would be better. Those are ANCIENT terms. Like when someone says "chesterfield".

In normal not as much you could but it’s mostly in elite where you can actually get the debuff done since things just die for instantly on normal

Depends on the captain but a mixed, I have more into aux but not max them a little into engines and weapons

if there wasn't an issue with entity counts when running mines it might work well, but that something i'd try and avoid and stick the the grav well since you won't despawn the map with that compared to the mines
