This particular court case bugged me a little bit. You would think that ANY judge would have the power to at least make sure that woman was safe based on her words and the obvious fear she portrayed in her body language whether it’s support court or any other courtroom.. not sarcastically say that she needed a drink after the case was over. We are taught that we should speak out, tell someone if we’re being harmed by another human being and this woman told a judge of all ppl who basically brushed her off. I found myself in a DV situation in my mid 20’s.. this was back in the 90’s when laws weren’t as strict about DV yet. I stood in a courtroom with my abuser too and my body shook out of fear just being in the same room with him, that’s how far he tore me down. The judge standing before me was also female and I mustered up the courage to ask her for assistance in merely getting to my car bc my abuser was a very bold man and I feared he would hurt me in the parking lot.. and he did just that! I was ignored too, I would have thought things would have changed by now and they would have written something more to this storyline. At minimum, as far as the child support was concerned, the judge should have kept the same arrangement in place until further notice.. until the ex wife’s claims of abuse were founded or not.
@Maninawig2 жыл бұрын
I think her lesson in the end is telling. Her show allows them to address child support and not custody or any other legal aspect... however, Vonda B. did state that, had this been an actual Texas court, she would have slapped a TRO right there and taken further matters. As for the drink part, I do agree that's unprofessional, though I think that was Vonda ad-libbing cause she was at a loss of words.

Clearly there was domestic violence happening. A mother/ex wife doesnt go to court to speak so kindly about somekne she's not with. Nor did it sound at all genuine. As soon as she said they she was scared for her safety and didbt agree to the order, i believe the judge should have gone off his prooved income of $4000-$5000 perth month. The sheriff or police officer in the room, should have then escorted her and called police to come and interview her or take her back to the station (after making sure the kids were also safe), that would then give the ability for her to show them any proof if his criminal issues and they could then get a restraining order for her and her kids and even given her safe housing until theu could flee to wherever she needed to to for safety. I watch so much of this judge and I've always thought she was on her game and believed in fairness etc. I have no idea how she could have got this SO WRONG! Its really upsetting and concerning even as a viewer. 😢

She said she didn't agree to that amount and he was intimidating her into accepting so how is it right not to take her refusal into account?
@keepingitreal746 жыл бұрын
This case was a let down, she turned around and told you that she did not agree with the amount and she also told you why, I feel you let her down on this case it was apparent that thus lady was afraid of this man, you could have stopped this case and had the police called for her to then do the things you told her to do...how in the hell is four children going to live off of 415.00 a month...

Keeping ItReal Thank you for your comment! The goal of these cases are to remain realistic as possible without going outside of the topic: child support. Doing all of what you suggested would’ve made the situation unrealistic.

Support Court with Judge Vonda B. - When she rescinded being comfortable with the reduced order, why wouldn’t you order the support be based on his income according to Texas law? If abuse is a question then she may have been threatened into asking for a reduction.

@@joytoyouandme4593 If the guy was already paying for everything else on top of child support why would she not reduce it. If she would have kept it at the same amount or increased it he most likely would have stopped covering the children's extra curricular activities. Besides, the domestic part has to be addressed in another court before support court can do much outside of the currently applicable law.

I'm certain that that got thrown out down the road. She may have "adopted it" just to keep the courtroom calm until she could summon help. You always have to think of the different angles. She's just been made aware that this woman is under duress, and that this man is potentially violent, and can be potentially lethal. The safest thing to do is keep the court as CALM as possible until she can summon enough help to subdue that individual, and then go back and toss that "ruling" as the filer being "under duress". As she said, in today's court, they would have immediately issued a TRO and addressed custody right there, but to do that, you have to have enough people IN that courtroom to keep everyone safe from harm. You guys have to remember that when they are in there, they are looking out not just at the two people in front of them, but everyone in the "audience" waiting to be called up as well. That's a LOT of people and lives to be responsible for.

Why didn't you get police in the court when you heard the woman fear for her life. You did make light of the situation when you fanned yourself and said you needed a drink. Why didn't you get your bailiff involved?

Wait, this is where the judge should Stop this hearing and make sure she wasn't Coerced by the defendant!! As it clearly seems!! Also, it's the courts duty to be sure she is safe leaving court.

A lot of people are saying the judge should have acted but I think this was meant to show that if you don't step up at the right time, this could happen. This is support court and not regular court I guess?

You are absolutely correct. To act based on what she was saying would have taken the show completely out of context.

@@JudgeVondaB what context???? an agreement when 1st she was under duress 2nd she agreed to the fact of her being crazy and 3rd when asked if both parties agree she said yes because Im afraid of him how do you have a law degree.if the point to this episode was for education the only thing you taught was that you didnt want to deal with it and that maybe your bought and paid for by him. but you are never consistent in your rulings or math its like you make your rulings off of feelings somtimes its split the insurance other times its pay all of it your math is incorrect alot too even if you have a calculator.

This is why this whole channel is a joke. As a judge you don't need to be walked on, I understand that, but she's a jerk when she doesn't need to be, and let's things slide way to much when she shouldn't, and this is the reason for no longer being subscribed. The fact she cared more about her other cases for the day when the girl was so obviously hurt, and abused, is absolutely shocking. She does not deserve to sit on the bench after this, she does this dismissing thing WAY to often. I am so relieved to read the comments though, I'll have to say a prayer for her I hope God keeps her safe..💔 I urge you all to unsubscribe as well because for another example for you she "got mad" at someone for trying to smoke cigarettes in the court room, and all she did was kick him out, she didn't hold him in contempt, she allowed him to call his ex a loser, and cuss her out, and yell at her, she literally said nothing and if that's how he treats her in public I CANNOT imagine how he treats her behind closed doors, she also tells people not to call names and yet she's called people dozens of names, and tells them when she disagrees with their parenting choices which isn't relevant, I hope she gets disbarred honestly. She's starting to disgust me as a "judge".
