I really love this KZbin blog "Support Court with Judge Vonda B." I'm learning so much about child support even though that I don't have any kids. Also, why is this concept not on national television with all the other court shows? I have a question? What are your views on fathers or mothers that are paying court-ordered child support but the father or the mother do not want the biological parent to see the child or children? I hope I'm asking that correctly because I had a friend of mine who is currently paying child support, not in the state of Texas but he was going back and forth to Family Court for visitation proceedings and the mother denied him visitation but is still collecting court-ordered child support. Also, I wanted to point out as well that the child or children that are staying with one of the biological parents is not being abused by either parent but I do see a little mental abuse and putting the kids in the middle of the parents squabble.I just wanted to know your views about that because I've seen in other documentaries and videos that a lot of fathers and mothers are being denied visitation rights even though that they been faithful on their child support payments. What do you think about that?
@JudgeVondaB6 жыл бұрын
Bobby Whitney Thank you so much!! We are working on teaching the national television level. It’s coming soon!🤗 In Texas, child support and visitation are two very distinct things. So if they parent is denying visitation, it doesn’t affect child support. In other words, child support continues. Similarly in the case when the parent isn’t paying child support but visits with the child; no money being paid has no affect on visitation. When a parent is denied visitation, it’s their responsibility to document each time it happens, call the police, and take the parent back to court. I think some parents do not utilize the court system enough when they are being denied visitation of the child. If it were done more often, parents would stop doing it. I say that because if the court finds that the parent did in fact deny visitation, attorneys fees are mandatory (Texas law).
@bobbywhitney62626 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Judge Vonda B! I told my buddy to investigate here in Ohio which I feel that child support here is sad. Maybe Texas Law needs to be brought here in Ohio because so many deadbeat parents live here. Even here in Ohio, I read that the state takes your driver license away if you don't pay back child support. Wow! But, I do also feel that there should be NO restricting of visitation if I know that the parent(s) child support payments are not in arrears. 👶👶

My court hearing is tomorrow afternoon here in Las Vegas. The father of my daughter quit his trucking job where he made roughly $200k annually to work a minimum job. His trucking job verified his employment with them, but since he's an independent contractor he can leave work for as long as he wants and return when he wants, therefore, he can work for another company for as long as he wants and then go back. He's done that in the past to work for his brother and then he returned to his trucking job after a few months. His excuse for not paying child support is because he has other kids to take care of, but I didn't know about those kids when we got married, he only confessed about them after I became pregnant. He also admitted that he is still in an active relationship with the two children's mother and that she's his wife. The children and their mother lives in Kenya, Africa so the cost of him to support them there is a lot less than supporting our daughter here in America. So, because it's too expensive in America, he confessed about them to me so that I can abort our daughter. But I didn't agree with him to abort our daughter because she's innocent and I had no idea about his other life so I will not get rid of my daughter for his convenience. He left me while I was 2 months pregnant because I didn't listen to abort our baby and he hasn't been involved ever since then. Please Pray for me and my daughter to get the justice we deserve.

What people don’t understand is that child support is based on a percentage. So if he makes $95k and his CS was 20% then he’d have a net of $76,000. But if he then reduced his salary to $70k (for example), his CS would go down but his new net would be $56,000. He looses money. So the only reason someone would do this is to spite the other parent and make them pay more for the kids.

I've known so many men who've done the same or similar. They're willing to live on less money themselves JUST for the satisfaction of knowing that their children have to live on less, too. I've known men who quit management jobs and voluntarily scraped by on minimum wage just because it made them happy to know their children had to live in precarity. And that's not even touching the hornet's nest of men who work under the table in restaurants or auto garages so that they can claim zero income and know that their children are getting nothing. (While I acknowledge that there's probably a nonzero number of women doing the same, it's nowhere near as rampant and I've never met one personally. Whereas I've known more than a few men who openly brag about it) GRANTED, this was all many years ago, and it seems like laws and procedures have changed for the better.
