@@Boostedlifestyle Kyle, You could also improve the gas tank size with a custom shape which You can certainly fabricate with aluminium or stainless steel sheets.😆 [See Dennis Taylor's custom tanks in the '55 build for details] There are already several good suggestions regarding the dripping fuel from the carburettor to check. Perhaps consider the seat design and how it fastens too along with having an adjustment for the handle bars height like on bicycles, and tricycles.🤔 Why would You think or be concerned about rust if the tubes and parts are aluminium or stainless steel ? 🤔 They don't rust, correct ? 🧐 🤨 This rather simple and functional build is very good, useful and appears to have been enjoyable, with a functional usable, enjoyable result too. Actually have a simple idea to use for such a build with a different engine, power set up. Perhaps You have see the Liquidpiston X-engine [rotary] and their hydrogen based - EV Go Kart which other fuels also are usable within their X-engine too, including diesel, kerosene, etc. 😄 All The Best 😊 Sincerely ☺

I build stuff like this too and I've rant into the Issue a fee times with those engines where the pin that holds the carb float will still and leak fuel/Fill crank case with fuel, Take off the Bowl, Push out the float pin and run a drill bit through it to clean it out and make sure float moves freely, I do this to every engine now before I install, Bad Ass Ride Eh!
@westinkropuenske21312 жыл бұрын
That thing is sweet! Look into that throttle linkage closer. They sell kits for predictor engines to hook the throttle right to the carb and bypass the governor completely. This would let you rev that engine out more. You could definitely make something work without buying the kit.

There is a philips screw with a spring on it that Is a safety stop for throttle. Take it all the way out. Restrics throttle. Also there's a govner spring. Bypass it by putting a zip tie thru it so the spring can't spring out anymore. Just don't hold wide open throttle for a long time. Also I'd suggest a torque converter

These low compression motors don't like gas over 92 octane. Try some ethanol free 87 or 89. Also the float hight and drop can get knocked out of whack pretty easy. Also check the valve lash after a couple of sessions of running it. Iv got an extra lo206 motor from kart racing and def want to make a trike to ride around the neighborhood!

Float is definitely stuck open happens all the time if you put small carbs like that on their side or upsidedown, they get hung up very easily. Tech tip! Gently wack on the bowl with the nearest designated everything hammer, and it might just fix it self!
@Contabulator2 жыл бұрын
I had the same leaking carb problem I went through two motors to figure it out lol...... The reason it's leaking is because that gas tank you have on is feeding way too much gas to the carburetor to the point where it's overflowing.......put the original tank back on and the leaking will stop
@TheBudman3022 жыл бұрын
On the bottom of the carb is the fuel bowl.. Make sure both screws are tight. 10mm
@charleswilliams20082 жыл бұрын
It’s likely a little piece of dirt under the needle that seals the bowl when the floats raise .. pull the bowl off the carb and make sure there isn’t a little piece of aluminum from the tank or something in there ..

Check the fuel bowl is tight and there might be an issue with the float in it being stuck or something 🤔 Definitely put a chain guard on it. 1 so it doesn't whip you in the butt if it snaps and 2 to stop pants getting eaten up at the front end.
