Nice catch thanks for sharing. The point of barbless hooks is reducing the damage, it does not relate to one being able to take the fish or not. Actually, I would only use barbed hooks if I would intend to keep the fish at any cost, otherwise stick to barbless.

We catch Cohos, and especially Pinks, from shore in the Puget Sound regularly, but catching Cohos in the surf? That's cool. Everybody who's ever fished has tossed back a bleeder at one time or another, and felt bad about it. Wanted to keep it too, if it was big enough to eat and no one was looking. But the crab have to eat too, so no worries. Keep it up, love your vids.

No minimum length for pink, chum, or sockeye. Fin clipped coho from June 27 through August 16 or sooner with a 22,000 quota.

Warning! Do not use too short a leader or let your weight be next to your lure with a treble hook when fishing in Oregon. From page 19 of the 2018 regulations: "With hooks larger than 5/8 inch gap or multiple point hook, weight must be attached 18 inches or more above the uppermost hook."

They do for stream fishermen as it is one method of detecting snaggers. If you get caught with too many fish or out of season fish it is just one more thing they can look to cite you.
@tannercross98256 жыл бұрын
This is false as you have a texes rig plus page 19 of the regs is on the general NOT specific zones or areas nice try buddy stay in the clouds and leave fishing be Plus snagging on purpose in surf is impossible lol
