Most animated movies have the voice actors alone in a studio recording their parts. This movie had both voice actors together in the recording studio, so it could have the natural sort of interrupting back and forth as you would in a real conversation.

It is a mockumentary. It’s an animated film in the form of a reality film. It’s like Reality TV. They both act super realistic.

I'm going to be honest, this was one of the most genius animated films I've ever seen. My family enjoys this movie all the time, but it appears that the popular norm hasn't really accepted this one that well, probably because it's not explosive, flashy, with pop cultural music and ridiculous cheesy lines and dance sequences all over the place. People like Happy Feet far more, which doesn't make any sense considering that movie really wasn't that good at all. But Surf's Up has such a combined style of documentary presentation, natural dialogue and other character interactions that it draws the audience member in by making you feel like you're there with these characters...like you could talk to them yourselves...instead of just watching a bunch of penguins dancing from a distance hoping that I somehow feel involved.
@aim-9sidewinder5504 жыл бұрын
yeah, i surf ups more than happy feet. I've watched surf ups more than 20 time, no joke. as a kid. Just rewatched it recently, it is still entertaining.

I was flying ANA, going to Chicago for vacation and the mad lads had _Surf's Up_ on their in-flight entertainment, under kids movies and I was SO BUMMED on the flight back that it wasn't there anymore, because the flight back was when I discovered they didn't just carry those movies, they also carried the japanese dubs for it, and I would've LOVED to watch this movie dubbed in Japanese, now I have no idea where else I'd possibly find it until it either goes up on Netflix or Disney+

Fun fact: the reason why big z takes his time with shaving the board many times, it's cz the studio gone through all the trouble creating the effects for the wood shavings, they were gonna milk the scene as the tech to create the wood shavings was hard to do or not done before.
