Surface Duo is GREAT: What Everyone Got Wrong: TRUE MULTITASKING | Camera v Note 20 & iPhone, Review
When's the last time you really ran two simultaneous mobile apps at once?
With the Duo, it really is as easy as Opening a window on another monitor on desktop.
Treat the Microsoft Surface Duo as if it has one screen, and when you really need it bring the second!

Really appreciate your review. A true influencer that understands what reviews are about. Disappointed about other creators using words like trash to describe the Duo and other devices without understanding the lengths companies and by extension the teams who worked years in most cases to develop and bring a product to the market. I am yet to get my unit to unbox and review on my channel and very much still exciting about the possibilities with the understanding about what Microsoft is trying to achieve especially by saying that the Surface Duo is not a phone. Props again keep up the good work 👍🏽

Thank you Dario! Hope you get it soon! I say to all give it time, it is a steep learning curve and awkward at times. But when you truly multi task, that's the ah hah moment.

I've had the Duo since launch day, it's become my preferred device for anything not requiring a much larger screen. I'm doing all my email, Slack, Reddit, Twitter and Whatsapping on the Duo. I'm reviewing, signing and editing documents. And I'm doing my Zoom and Skype and Teams calls on the Duo as well. It's not a phone, it's a pocket computing device that can make and receive calls.

Yes! For me, Teams on the left, web browsing on the right screen especially on hour long meetings. It's easier to unmute the mic when it's on the second screen than floating.

I remember way back when I purchased the first smart phone ever made (window phone) and I had to listen to an idiot sales person try to talk me out of it , telling me I really needed to buy a Motorola razor. Lol. Some people lack vision and only want the same old crap they know. Awesome video. You see it for what it is.

Lol I remember buying the 950 at AT&T for my upgrade and the lady was like "why?" with a stank look on her face 😂😂 I had that phone for almost four years til the end of 2019 when Ms was ending support, whatsapp stopping working killed it for me, I'm on the Nokia 7.2 until I can afford the Duo

@rrobertt13 You can choose not to believe me I really could care less if you do. I have used my Surface Duo for 13 days and have had very few issues with it and love the experience and capabilities including the battery and camera "Horribly buggy" sounds to me like user incompetence or simply bias. I did go into it from a Lumia 950 so I did not have any horrible bias built up with Android or iOS, I just was patient and learned how to make it my device that works for me, it's a delight to use and impresses me every day.

@rrobertt13 I don't think it's a "Piece of crap" ! I think it's what comes after 13 years of Smartphones. If I were a KZbin person, I could show you how it works awesome, sadly I don't have time or patience to do that. Although I could negate all its criticism Seems to me those with biased opinions have the time to post videos, those that love it don't have time and are thoroughly enjoying the Surface Duo! The reviewers are tied to Apple and Samsung Look IOS posts garbage software cut the Surface team a break (New form factor whole new UI) quit being that negative guy. BTW I still have my Lumia 950..great phone now without its SIM..don't ditz WP

@rrobertt13 If it had "bugs" I could not figure out; I would return it. Instead I learned how to use it in every situation so far. Camera: I use in phone mode with camera in the correct position. Alarm/Phone again open/use in correct orientation. It's like any new device, you learn it, so it fits what you need it to do. Thats the fun in it is having it amaze you as you learn to use the device by exploring it. Instead of just writing a bad comment or review. I can assure you that you can find "bugs" in any technology, look at any forums with any device you own. there will be issues. So, people need to give the Surface Duo room and quit looking like morons bashing it. It will not stop people from buying it and enjoying it.

Watching this on my LG V60 dual screen in which I multitask easily. I read and study on the right screen while taking notes on the left screen. Constantly running two screens. If not studying I am watching KZbin on right screen while texting on the left. Love the look of the Duo and glad some are using it. It's just too far out of my budget to get it. Thanks for the review.

You are spot on. I love my Duo. It's a workhorse and can't ever go back to regular phones lol. It fits my needs, but I realize some people want the best camera, NFC, etc.... Just not important for someone like myself. Great vid 👌.

excellent review, my duo to arrive wednesday, and i have the ms 60 day rtn policy, so as you state this is a unique device and for me i will to use it to find its actual viable use for my needs. i've been with orig galaxy fold since dec 2019 and do love it and have had an i-ring on the back to allow it to have the "flex" hinge since the beginning which changes the use drastically for the better, as in the duo, which goes 1 better in being a 360 hinge...i'll look for more of your reviews...side note, the actual video you use is somewhat fuzzy for the facial dialogue video, actual views of the device are clearer, but all in all excellent content ! dr s

Wow, what a great, realistic review. I love my Duo btw. And it's great that its on sale for 1,199. Even if you bought it for full price, MS will credit you the 200$ to your account without returning the device.

another comment as a f/u, as a physician who is now doing home visits i hope to use with one screen as my elec med record and google keep for handwritten notes during patient visits, which is somewhat awkward with the galaxy fold since i have to use a capacitive pen w/o palm rejection, ( and the camera for wound pics) surface go was just not portable enough and i then needed 2 devices all the time...we'll see ??

I get you are a MS/Surface superfan but... Flipping the camera to change from front to back is done badly, not only could you accidentally do it, but it is not a fluid seamless process. Claiming you simply have to do it properly in 2020 is not a good look. MS need to rethink that. The camera is unacceptable at $1400. "Embrassing Android"! That is desperation, they failed miserably with Windows Mobile and as last resort, years into a mature market they launch an Android device. What else could they do, another failed touch OS that sucked! They are a software company and they have failed at a phone/tablet OS, so here we are 10-years late! By the way, you can multitask on the Fold 2 or a tablet better and have a 1000% better full-screen experience. Just because it has two screens in the days of split-screen is not a defining feature, it is in fact something we have been using for many years! Getting excited by this is bewildering! You say, the main use is as one screen and I agree, so why buy this. The spec on this can be had for $400 as a one screen, then buy a Tab S7+ 5g with the change and use that when you need to? Running Excel on this without an attachable keyboard would be an awful experience, and I do not get why the apologists claim that is its optimal use? Try having two excel sheets open with the on-screen keyboard and see how slow and inefficient you are compared to a laptop/tablet? This is dumb for excel and there lies the problem, if its main calling is a total fail then what is the Duo for? This is too expensive and badly done. It is a poor phone (spec is bin parts) and a sub-par tablet, that gap between the displays is terrible. Just buying this because it folds is false economy, it offers no added value but takes a load away. Of course, if you are an MS fan or have the disposable income then you may be tempted, but do not try and say this is anything other than a poor first try!

I think the duo is kind of nice but certainly not 1400 dollars nice :) Maybe Surface Duo will be better with no more gap between the screen instead of this space that eats words...as it is now, i dont find it appealing .
@PSYCHOV3N0M
@PSYCHOV3N0M 3 жыл бұрын
If you have to explain to the masses the "proper" way to use this phone, then it's already a failure. It's supposed to be a seamless experience. Not even LG dual-screen phones got bad reviews like the Duo. Having both screens exposed back to back all around like that in "one-handed" mode is something most people wouldn't use for long because if they drop the phone, odds are one of the two screens will get shattered. Galaxy Note has a built-in stylus which is more useful for signing documents or taking down notes. Microsoft drooped the ball with the hardware and software on the Duo. They better hurry up and work on the Duo 2.
