I've been fan of Clayton's teaching for years now and I'm so impressed - these presentations have become so polished and professional yet still managed to keep that fun vibe. Big props to all of the OMBE team for the great product they have created, and how they have brought Clayton's genius to such a big audience. Keep it going guys!

Finally someone addressing the importance of front foot positioning! Now, the key that nobody talks about, how to hit the sweet spot (lengthwise) when popping up? 80% of beginners and intermediate surfers have their front foot too far forward. There is where all the unbalance and tension comes from. Would you agree?

That straight line from front foot to shoulder was gold tip!!! Thx!!

Hey Guys, first of all let me thank you - clear and great explenation! I think the biggest challenge ist that most beginners don't train the back muscles well to get into this "head and chest up position". Isn't it also that this position let you use different muscles for paddling? I have this feeling, that with the right position paddling becomes easier. BTW: Everything get better since I do paddle training almonst once a day just by laying on the floor. Not to much, just 60 to 120 strokes per day, but I have the feeling my muscle memory keeps alive during the summer.

So much great coaching on this channel. I consider myself a intermediate surfer, but this video proved to me that I should be still trying to polish the beginner steps. Just put to use not over paddling and popping up to quickly today and reaped the Benefits of catching way more waves! Thanks for the help!

I’ve really been enjoying your videos. I’ve been surfing for 14 years now, but I’m still a learning/progressing surfer. I always seem to find some invaluable nuggets of advice in your videos. Keep up the great work. Thanks! 🙏🤙🏄♂️

I figure a couole of months ago that also there is a tendency for beginner like me when paddling, to over extend the paddle strokes, in other words we try to reach too far in frint and there is puch downwards instead of backwards loosing a bunch of energy. When i realized this and modify my technique, arching my back more and my strokes closer to the board and entering the water not so far in front keeping my elbow up, i found myself without burning shoulders and able to paddle for much longer and quicker.

Thanks guys. I have to ask about the Oreo. Heard it in a few vids. Is it the curve of the pop-up? (I’m losing sleep over this... 🤣)
