I need your advice! I skate goofy and skate a lot of mini ramps and can front disaster and air out of ramps like you suggested. But I surf regular and have around 2 years experience, but can pretty much only cutback, snap, and floater. I have tried switching but the commitment to a goofy pop up while ive been doing it regs for so long doesnt feel right. Do you think I should switch surfing stances or just get good at skating switch because I want to eventually do airs, and ollieing switch while on a wave is tough.

I'm finally going to upgrade my board from a 6'6 $20 js industry gumtree board with cracks and stuff but I don't know what to get and also know nothing about surf brands or surfboards. I'm trying to find an alright used board for under $350-$400 but I don't know what to look for or even what size. If anyone knows what I should look floor please give us a reply. I'm 6ft and 67kg. btw this is the best and clearest air tutorial I've ever seen. Cheers to anyone who replies.

First off, thank you so much! Secondly, what level are you at with your surfing?
@lstbz43093 жыл бұрын
@@SurfingWithNoz experienced
@SurfingWithNoz3 жыл бұрын
@@lstbz4309 okay bro, so at my level I’m riding 24-25.5L boards (more around the 25L mark) and I’m the exact same weight as you (but 5’9) so I’d go for a board with a bit more literage than me like 26-28L. If you’re pretty good go lower litres, if you don’t catch heaps of waves go for 28L (more waves = more experience and foam is your friend!) and 6’6 in my opinion is way too long! I ride 5’7 and 5’6 so I’d go for 6’0 to 6’1 (every inch is a big difference) so quick recap. Go 6’0 or 6’1 and 26-28L if you are confident in your ability go on the small side of this scale but if you’re learning a fair bit still, the extra volume will help you out so much! Most people make a big mistake in riding boards that are too small so I’d personally recommend going bigger 🤙🏽 hope this helps mate, thanks for watching my videos!

Hey man! Yeah mine freezes after a take a long video or randomly (probably every 2nd session) so I have to restart it holding both buttons down. But then whatever video it just took or froze on is ruined, can’t be accessed. The only advice I could give is don’t take videos for too long but kinda defeats the purpose of the camera unfortunately. Hopefully GoPro fix it with the Hero 10 because I heard the 9 still has bugs too

@@SurfingWithNoz ok thanks. Yea waves should come in a month or 2 when we start to get cold fronts or bigger hurricanes on the east not west. Yea I’m only 13. I’ll prolly pick up a 5’7 5’8. Today it was 2 foot. I went after a small storm and the winds shifted offshore. Many thought it was still raining so I got all waves to myself. I even pumped down the line on a right. Im goofy and usually go left 🙄. Cool thing cus I struggled with pumping on frontside before. I love the surfskate. Maybe more drills in the future? Keep up the good work.

A few years ago I've been lucky enough to be taught by a couple legendary surfers to do airs such as Filipe for full rotations and air reverses and Jordy for regular straight airs yet this tutorial is still probably better than those 2 pros.😂 I think there's 2 things to get into to make this tutorial better and that is grabs and something else I'll say now now. On your forehand when u throw your back arm into the air it's good to try grab your rail. Either hand is fine, I'm natural footed but have a habit of grabbing with my left hand on straight airs which helps angle my nose outwards towards the beach and then grabbing with my right hand on any rotational airs just cos it helps me keep my board to my feet most of the time. But grabbing will help get your knees up to your chest. Then the other tip is while your doing the shallow bottom turn for the air u can try eying above the lip. Kinda like a few inches above. Idk why but that helped me so much!!

Thanks so much for the message mate, I really appreciate it!! And also thank you for sharing those other two tips, I think they will be super helpful to others learning to do airs 🙌🏽

Just started surfing consistently a little bit over a year ago and have gotten pretty good for the time I've been surfing. Can't wait to be able to do these when I'm good enough

Stoked to hear that! You’d be surprised how good you’re going to get if you keep staying super consistent. I’ve seen people get crazy good in a couple years 🙌🏽 keep it up

Great video! What kind of skateboard are you riding in the simulation? I've been trying to hunt down the right one for hitting ramps at the skatepark.
