Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
Have fun watching the video!

An idea to improve your crops: Change the floor of the chicken coop to a grid and place sawdust and dry leaves underneath to collect manure from the chickens. Change the material every two days. Then mix this material with loose soil and leave it marinating for two months (it is important to keep this mixture always wet). It is an excellent compost for fertilizing plantations.

You are very skilled at what you do on the farm. To me it's another form of art. If my father were alive he would have loved watching you work......he was in masonry and built homes in the Arizona and also helped build churches, schools, and orphanages in Mexico.

Truthfully I personally learn something new everytime I watch your channel. I cannot say enough about how important what you are doing is. The modern population has long lost the skills you show us in each and every video you have done and continue to do. I am constantly amazed at what you have accomplished with simple tools that you have made yourself from what is around you. This covers rock tools in the very beginning to those you forged from ore found in the creeks and streams where you live. I personally will continue to watch and admire all you do for as long as you wish to show and teach us the skills of your and our ancestors.

@@PrimitiveSkillsnet Sir; you deserve all of that and more! It's really too bad you cannot set up your farm as a part time school to teach seminars, aka classes on what you do to those who would like to be taught these skills in person. I know if I were younger and far richer than I am, I would absolutely jump at the chance to do so! I am quite sure there are others all over the world and in your country that feel the same as I. Blessings for you and your family.

Looks great as always. I do have a suggestion, not sure if it is a good one but I hope it is a good one. Consider making a smokehouse, for when you need to smoke fish, meat, and certain vegetables, it would no doubt help you preserve food better and get some variation in flavor. Fire safety first! It is important to make sure no flames or sparks can hit the wood of the structure, or it might catch fire, and you need to make sure that the fire doesn't just die before the smoking is done. I hope you found this helpful and I look forward to the next video.

Mr. Duong Seeing as how you have the skills and materials to build structures using rammed earth ( cabin ) with shingles for the roof, and sawn lumber like the workshop, why do you continue to build temporary structures out of bamboo and palm leaves? It would make more sense to me to build a permanent structure once and maintain it, than building structure that’ll only last a year or two. I love your channel, your family is beautiful and your supportive wife has been an inspiration. I have watched your show since the beginning. all of your inventions, and the radical changes you’ve made to your homestead. Keep up the amazing work. This is the best primitive skills channel on you tube and you should have way more subs. Thank you for you time.

You building skills always impress. : ) The new way to do those roof rafters at the top was awesome. Have you thought of adding an overhead floor below the roof for attic storage? Might be very useful. : ) How are the piglets doing? Do you still have 5? I fear for those little critters roaming outside their pig pen. A huge effort of care and time to lose one if they wonder too far and get killed or lost. : (

I'm curious, do you ever use larger pieces of bamboo lengthwise like roofing tile? the pieces would have to have the section cleared out of them, but after that I would see no problem with lining the roof with them, even being able to create a better overhang and making it much easier than hardwood planking. You could use the larger pieces on the bottom and save the smaller pieces turned over to seal the seams of the adjacent bottom pieces u^u^u^u^u

Florida is where I grew up. There, palm trees like these were very common. I once built a small hut, using palm leaves and stems for roof thatching. Those thorns are pretty nasty. I used a pocket knife to shave off the thorns. Other people would pass by the thicket, where I built the hut. As a prank, they destroyed it. I'm not sure why.
