There is a hole in the market, albeit nieche, for in depth scientific unhooked analysis. E.g. as there is no pitch control, education about how to finish a kite or megaloop where the kite won't go back up, would assist safety. I'd definitely pay for this. It's possible people will swing back to wake style after they're bored with airstyle. I read RyGo has seen indicators this may occur soon.

Anton, there are plenty of tutorials on KZbin on light wind tips but yours is much more precise and useful, especially on board use, legs and body position. I am used to kite on a small lake nearby home where the wind is very changing, and sometimes half of best forecast, so with sensible ups and downs. In these conditions you cannot choose an ideal sail size and it is always a compromise between gust risk and minimum size to ride. In addition the lake width is small so we need to tack quite often with another wind drop due to nearby trees. So I will try all of your advices and I am sure they will help me a lot. Thank you so much 😎

Ohh, thanks for your story! Kiting in a small lakes is so very familiar to me! Did that a lot around my home town. Well, yea, low wind skills for normal wind + overpowered skills for numerous gusts from nearby field, that's the combination we need for such conditions)

Bro, you produce the best learning content in the world of kitesurfing, thanks a ton!!! What’s your advice on best kites for low wind: what shape and maximum size to have fun and do tricks? I would think that a C shape is better because it turns faster, and personally my biggest size is 12. Now thinking, should I invest in a bigger size and what kite for a twin tip and 80kg rider?

hey Anton, You have allot of technical and aerodynamic knowledge so best resource for my question. I am 90kg and usually in the summer we have allot of low wind days with average 14-18kts which is not enough for me.I have been kiting for 1 year now and doing small jumps, and i really want to keep kiting and jumping this summer. I am looking into buying a foil kite like the fly surfer soul, only my problem is the size of kite and the size of the board. I have 3 options 1. 12m soul with a light wind board (144x48) 2. 15m soul with normal board (140x42) 3. 15m soul with 144x48 board I want to focus on maximum potential for jump height, going to buy your video so i can maximise technique even in lower windspeeds, but which kite and board? I know people usually say a smaller kite in stronger winds makes for higher jumps, but what about lower wind speeds. Friend of mine said speed is very important and the higher speed of option 1 with smaller kite will probably give jumps as high as option 2. But hes not sure if option 3 might be even better then both option 1 and 2. i hope you can provide some insight, Thnx allot!

Just excellent! So much know how included! I would call myself an experienced lightwind rider, And Maybe you can help me with 2 topics: 1) One of my Kite Beach is in morocco was riding at low wind with downloops riding forward. Do you find this effective? I typically only use the diwnloops for transition and waterstart in lightwind. 2) You are also riding the core XR. my largest Kites are xr5 17m and XR6 13,5m. Especially recently in Fuerteventura (Sotavento Lagoon) I experienced the kite overflying me in the zenit at gusty low wind - and frontstalls out of the sky. Any other tips to prevent this (other then flying the kit in figure 8 all the time which is sometimes not possible). Thsnks! Holger
@antonchernyshov87593 жыл бұрын
Well.. 1) Of course, a lot of downloops will drive you downwind. For sure, you are right, it's better to use them to change tack or prevent the kite from falling only. 2) Hmm, if there is a small gust followed by a gap in the wind, the kite will likely frontstall. Not sure if there is a way to prevent it, except for keeping the kite a bit on the side from 12. However, I would often quickly do several steps upwind to prevent it, as soon as I see, that "frontstall scenario" starts to unfold, I think it's kind of second nature. I mean, if the lines get juust a bit slack I would always immediately bring myself upwind somehow)

I'm in Chicago with fresh water vs. salt. Do you think it has an affect on light wind ability. I'm about 88kg and seem to have a hard time in less than 15 knots. I'm keeping the kite moving and on a 154cm light wind core or Litewave carbon board, both 154cm. As well riding in a light wind stance with soft front and less pressure on rear to level board out with a 17m aluulah OR kite. Seems like there are plenty of videos where someone is riding is 10-12 knots and wondering if salt water combined with riders in the 72/73kg is the difference?
@SK-iv6kc2 жыл бұрын
Hello Anton, I really appreciate your videos and bought you LTF series. You mention that we have to maintain line tension by hanging on the lines, but how do I accomplish this if my center of gravity is above the board (to maximize the surface area of the board)?
@antonchernyshov87592 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for supporting my work so much! Good question. Well, yea, I would say your lightwind balance point will be more "above the board" then a highwind one, however you will still feel like hanging on the lines. Just less, if compared to strong wind situation. It's also about your body posture. A beginner is literally above the board, even bending forward in his waist, like trying to look at his toe side rail of the board. Advanced rider doesn't do that. He keeps the body straight, waist not bending, leaning back just a bit like a must of a ship. The body is tensed, it's not absorbing the pulses of the kite by bending here and there. It feels like being above the board if compared to powered-up stance, but still it's not the beginners "above the board". Hope that makes sense)
