Helldivers also gets away with having dead enemies sink into the ground because we as players understand why that is necessary. We slaughter SO MANY enemies that the load on the game systems just to track and render the excessive amount of corpses generated by a 30+ minute mission would be unmanageable, and we know it. We accept that sinking into the ground is the tradeoff for getting the massive horde battles.

They still give free stratagems, though it's a lot less often than it once was. The cool thing is the last two times they did for no reason (a in, just an unexpected happy bonus toy) they actually had it for a few days in a row. The most recent strategem they gave us for free was the orbital napalm barrage and that was because we liberated a planet. Also, if you haven't tried the orbital napalm barrage yet you REALLY should ASAP. It's available for purchase with requisition slips

Also also, if you haven't checked out the latest balance update you should. It's pretty sick. Literally every gun got buffed because they reworked how armor and damage interact. Other guns got pretty specific and cool buffs. The arc thrower, crossbow, eruptor, railgun, arc blitzer are some that I've used and loved. The arc thrower, since you said you liked it, got its range upped from 35m to 55m, chains through more enemies, stun locks everything save for bile titans and factory striders, and had its durable damage increased from 50 to 100. And GOOD LORD the thermite grenades got their damage buffed literally 20 fold. They can one shot chargers and hulks now. They can also destroy bot fabricators if you hit them literally anywhere; you don't have to make a trick throw through the vent.

Orbital Napalm is actually built different. I steamed the update last night. Oh man, it goes hard. My argument is that they need a weekly rotator or roulette for a few Strategem. It keeps the game fresh and gives players even more power for this 9s and 10s. Have, "OOPS ALL ATs" week and give everyone free Expendable AT Rockets.

@@KipReacts yeah, orbital napalm barrage is fantastic. I love calling it in at the same time as a friend or a 380. It may not be efficient, but it's awesome and extremely democratic. If you haven't tried the thermite grenades yet, you should. One of them can delete a charger or hulk. I agree that there should be more free stratagem. It can encourage players to use equipment or a play style that they might not use otherwise. I also think there should be temp buffs to individual weapons too. Stuff like double ammo for the pistol sidearm you start with or plus 10% damage to the breaker spray and pray would also encourage you to change things up and make them interesting.

theres actually two other sets of armor with that bonus, both of which you can get in the free warbond. One being Hero of the federation which is page 5 and the other (I forget the name of it) being on page 10. So you don't have to buy the dlc in order to be able to get an armor with that effect

The big problem with mines is that they don't do their roll well. They are supposed to be persistent area denial tools, but in practice they deny an area for less time than napalm or gas because the enemies don't care and will just clear the field with their bodies. So, you get like 12 kills with it, and then all the other enemies are free to walk through.

The Tesla Towers after the update are doing the area denial job way better. I'm hearing AT Mines can now 1-shot Chargers. But, we're gonna see if all this gets nerfed again in the next 6 months.

You have needed a PS+ subscription (Not the same thing as a PSN account, PS+ is more akin to XBox Gold to play PS games online since the PS4 first came out and you've needed a PSN account (which is free) to play online since the PS3. The issue with HellDivers 2 was that Sony decided you need a PSN account to play it through Steam on PC after the game was already out and "flying off the shelves". This was a problem because although a PSN account is free... A lot of people had already bought and were playing the game (and were past the timeframe you can refund a game on steam) in countries that Playstation network is not supported (therefore they could not make an account if they wanted to and people in 180 countries could not play the game even though they bought it) After the public outrage of this, Sony went back on the PSN account requirement but, delisted HellDivers 2 from Steam in those places, essentially screwing over the people in those unsupported countries anyway. Luckily iirc, Valve ended up allowing refunds for for those people at the very least.

102:30 the stratagem exploit isn't a bug as much as it is a design oversight. Plugging in a stratagem code as far as the game is concerned is the same as pulling out a grenade. You have an item in your hand, you throw it, and an animation plays and hitboxes form. The orbit exit event stops the game from making more of these "grenades".

I agree the bots diverting from super earth the last second is emersion breaking. An in universe explanation could be that they detected the illuminate going to fight them. They have war on 2 fronts but focus on the illuminate because greater threat and they only have a splinter fleet. Super Earth pushs them back because they finally gave us better tech, causing the fleet they have fighting the illuminate being cut off from supply lines. Making the bots make reckless mistakes to try to reestablish the supply lines but keep getting by super earth. The bots fighting the illuminates eventually loss causing the illuminates to established a foot hold in the galaxy and when we finally make 1st contact with them we see the destroyed bots bases and what not. Will likely not happen because the devs are being stupid but one can dream

10:55 What happened with Friday the 13th wasn't the fault of the devs. What happened was that Victor Miller went to court because, according to the Copyright Law of 1976, he as the writer of the first movie could petition to have the copyright transferred to him. This kicked off a lengthy lawsuit between him and the producer Sean Cunningham that wasn't resolved until the end of 2021 by which point the game had been dead outside of peer-to-peer for a year. The lawsuit actually stopped several projects dead because the ongoing dispute made any project a risky venture.

An interesting clash of opinion on the bit with supers on 6. I felt it was a very fitting and appropriate all for a couple reasons, the first being the achievements all treat 6 as the minimum elite, not seven. The other is that while I consider 6-7 fairly easy with a full group, 7s, particularly at the time of the drop to 6, were not easy to solo without exploiting stealth. For combat pref players who didn’t feel like hooking up rando matches, the 7 wasn’t always an easy thing to reach. This coming from one who soloed 8s on the bot side

The funny (and sad) part is that when this game launched, it was virtually bug free. It was so polished that it was astounding that it could be so good, smooth, AND it worked the way it was supposed to. It was only after it got updated that the bugs started appearing which was sad to see.

Now that you mention it, it has gotten worse and worse in terms of bugs. I've had 2 instances on stream where the drill objectives brick. Nothing can fix it. Leaving and joining doesn't fix it. I hear it's rare, but I guess my luck is that wild. I had a few situations last night where me and buddies I was playing with got yeeted and physics-ed by seemingly random things. I had a bunch of Hunters all on top on a rock they shouldn't be able to be on normally at extraction, and they even bug breached on it. I'm actually really upset with the sheer number of bugs to the point that even after I was positive about the last update, I'm really getting frustrated.

Yeah nah they never did patch out the Stratagem working after the Super Destroyer leaves orbit. This works with objective-specific stratagems too. Hellbombs can be called in, but only as long as you hold the beacon for it.

Aw hell nah dawg! You spitting against ma homie the 500kg!? Granted, I have not played in a while but that stratagem alone carried me through the highest difficulty. Its hardly the most powerful, that is true, but its versatility and cooldown means you can solve a hell of a lot of problems without having to apply yourself. This is especially true if you combine it with the servo arm armor bonus to chuck it even further. In my eyes you can use it more frequently than the orbital cannon, guarantee objective kills better than the 380 orbital, kill heavy elites faster than the orbital laser and you get two of them. They are ridiculously useful in almost any scenario where you need something or a small base to just DIE.

It was something I took out specific threats with such as THAT factory or THAT bile titan. I found like 75% of enemies and objectives are easy to deal with because they are weak or conveniently located compared to you but there is always something that requires a lot of time and effort to deal with normally and the 500kg is fantastic for clearing up that last 25%. Granted, play-style differences.

yea they moved super samples down to 6 but you only get 2 in most matches rarely 3 so still slow. It halts upgrades to the casual base which shouldn't happen. I get wanting to keep them to a hard standard but completely stopping upgrades based on dificulty is a line I dont want. I go to 6 to chill, 7 to play, 8-9 for a challenge and 6 nowadays is actually fun. I don't wanna gatekeep someone who loves their 6's from being able to upgrade any ship module past 3

The best example I can think of for the whole argument about supporting you(edit; this was supposed to be "your", whoops) non-peak players is League of Legends. If you read their patch notes they actively call out when they are making changes for certain skill levels, and there are times where a character is completely useless in pro-level play and will still get nerfed because it is unfun for the low skill level games, or a character with a tiny play rate and a slightly losing win rate will get nerfed because the handful of players who have 1k+ games are winning 60+% of their games.

League is also a PvP game. The balancing philosophy is inherently different. I'm sorry that I'm not a peak player and that you feel like you have to explain buffs and nerfs to me. I'm hesitatant on art or animation. Artists, rightfully, get upset with unauthorized use of their work. Look at old Terminalamontage videos. The intro clearly states that reactions are not allowed. It's why I haven't reacted to them. Even "fair use" as it would seem, I still got a Copyright Strike from mashed over a non-public yugioh animation reaction. Which is still legal and technically fair game because of how Copyright works. So unless I know for 100% certainty that an artist wouldn't have an issue, I'm not comfortable reacting to animations or art like that at this time

I'm going to be honest with you: complaints about the bots not making it to Super Earth come off as really pedantic. Earth being invaded would have to be a major event. We'd need city maps, something they've talked about adding but which are nowhere near ready yet (they'll likely get released alongside the 3rd faction). We'd need all kinds of in-game assets for it that simply do not exist right now. Letting the bots "reach" Earth was never going to happen, and you're kidding yourself if you actually think it would have. Would you have been happy if they did, and the missions on Earth were just the same maps we've already seen, with the same skyboxes and objectives? No, you wouldn't have.

It just comes across as odd that they deviated last minute. But, at the end of the day the game is still going. I just don't really care about any Major Orders or Galactic Events after that. That's a personal subjective thing.

based on my experience with helldivers 2, its a very average game. i'm sure its better with friends, but since i don't really know anyone that plays it, i have to play it solo, and that really shows the issues with the game. primary and secondary weapons don't do enough damage, for the amount of enemies that attack, the stratagems are very inaccurate and the game wants you to be over reliant on them, and the Randoms that can just join your missions are the most toxic types i players i have found in any game, constant team killing, destruction of things you bring down, like mines and turrets, ignoring when i need or ask for help

I definitely like seeing Badger having fun with Helldivers 2. I don't have beef with it as a concept in the slightest. ...The foul-ups with Helldivers 2 came from fun-haters infiltrating hobbies and companies to ruin things for everyone. "Infiltrated" being the key word, since bad intentions love to hide in plain sight. I certainly didn't trust Star Wars: Outlaws from the start, especially with Ubisoft. That game turned out to be unfinished, probably due to development slowing down and picking back up to rush it out. Much different from Pokemon's eighth generation, Sword and Shield, which was an unfinished product because things weren't fully thought through, creating an average experience.
