To those that can relate it hits deep. I wasn’t abandoned by my family but the love wasn’t there.. the attention the help when needed. My last call wasn’t the stabbing I received or the gun shoot outs. It was the day my baby girl came home for the first night. We put her to sleep in her new crib and fell asleep. Some vatos walked up to my place and knew what bedroom was mine. They shot through the windows as we slept bullets hitting my daughters crib. Wooden pieces every where all over her. None of us got hit but that was it. No homies came to the check on me. I was done. Left the town to a bigger city. Enrolled into college unexpectedly without it being in the plans. 20 years later I’m on my fourth business ownership. I’ll never forget where I came from that’s why I help as much as I can in the community

Man listening to this had me choking up because I was that same abandoned kid he spoke about. I'm 30 years old now but the things I've done and the things I've seen and been apart of still haunt me to this day. Like it's 1 in the morning and I haven't slept in almost two days just stressed out about how I'm 30 with 2 kids trying to put the pieces together of the life I could have had. Gangs and drugs bring nothing but destruction. One day I hope to have all my shit in order especially my legal issues because I'm on the run right now. But once i get my shit together I wanna help guide at risk youth to help them steer clear of the gang life. Respeto all my Raza, north or south it don't matter. We're all Raza.

Once you're in the system it's hard to get yourself out. Court costs, fines, restitution. They all blow. It might seem like a large number at first but, if you chop away at it little by little you can put your life together. I'm chopping away at it right now. Sometimes I feel like my wheels are spinning and I ain't getting no where. As long as I put one foot after the other and don't go backwards I'm going to succeed at it. This is why I try to be considerate with people. Cause despite people who lived a hard life, there’s always a motive why they do it, it touched me when he said, “I felt abandon, 12 years old and nobody there but only his homies” das love💯💪🏽

I met this guy in my hometown in California by the border when I was 12yrs old me and the homies where just roaming the streets at that time. He approached us ,he was part of a church at that time he would actually give us 5 dlls each just so we all go and sit and listen to the word of God, he really did try to do good, just to get us off the street and go to church, will always remember this guy, the homie Jesse.
